Spurs Running Out of Gas on Rodeo Road Trip
San Antonio has been away from home since February 4 in Sacramento on a trip that has taken the Spurs from California to Oregon to Utah to Tennessee to Canada and now to New York. I don’t care who you are, even if the travel and hotels are all first-class, that kind of grind will wear you down. In fact, one could argue that the Spurs began to fade before even leaving home.
Speaking of fade, if you’ve faded the Spurs in their last 10-game stretch, you would be making a healthy profit as they are 1-9 ATS in their last 10, including losing straight up as a 9-point road favorite at MSG last night. With that, they’re 2-point road dogs tonight at Barclays with the total Sportsbook at 231.
Standout Stats
My Pick for Spurs vs Nets
Nets -2 / OVER 231
Brooklyn is 9-1 SU and 6-4 ATS in its last 10 games on home court and is 7-3 ATS in its last 10 games as a home favorite of 3 or less. Add in that fading the Spurs has been a profitable bet and that San Antonio had 130 dropped on them last night, and this looks like a good spot for Brooklyn.
If you’re not sold on a side, taking OVER 231 points looks like a good play as well. As we’ve already seen, San Antonio is allowing an average of 122.8 points against over its last 10 games while still scoring 113.6 per game.
Meanwhile, Brooklyn has played to at least 231 points in five of its last six outings.
