Two of the NBA’s Hottest Teams Clash in Motown

The Toronto Raptors will see their former coach for the second time this season tonight when Dwayne Casey’s old team meets his current team at Little Sportsbook Arena. Back in November, the Pistons won an emotional contest in Toronto 106-104 as 9.5-point road dogs. Tonight, the Raptors are four-point road favorites with the total at 219.5.

Standout Stats

  • Toronto is 9-1 SU and 4-6 ATS in its last 10 games. Detroit is 8-2 SU and 7-3 ATS in its last 10 games. During that time, Toronto is 3-0 SU and 2-1 ATS on the road, while Detroit is 4-0 SU and ATS at home. The Raptors defeated Portland on a last-second shot on Friday while Detroit handled Cleveland quite easily last night.
  • Detroit is 4-4 SU and 5-3 ATS on the second half of back-to-backs this year, offering neither an advantage or a disadvantage in this game.
  • Toronto (117.4 points per game) and Detroit (116.4 points per game) are the No. 7 and No. 9 scoring teams during the last 10-game segment. The OVER has hit in eight of Detroit’s last 10 games including four in a row at home.
  • Detroit has the No. 29 pace rating in the league during the last 10-game stretch, but expect the Raptors to increase the number of possessions tonight as they are No. 10 in the last 10 games.
  • Using the last 10 games window again, Detroit is ranked No. 1 in offensive rating and Toronto is ranked 6th. During that time, Detroit is getting 38.9 percent of its offense from the three-point shot (2nd) while the Raptors are No. 20 in opponent three-point percentage.
  • The Pistons and Raptors are No. 2 and No. 3 in point differential during the last 10-game segment. Everywhere we look, these teams are getting it done.

My Bet for Raptors vs Pistons

OVER 219.5

I think these offenses that are both working very, very well cannot be kept below 219.5 total points tonight. Yes, the first game only had 210 points scored, but that was three and a half months ago and both of these rosters have had ample time to adapt to their new head coaches since then.

Both of these teams are in a winning mind frame and scoring plenty of points along the way, especially with the OVERs that have been cashing in Detroit. I foresee a back and forth battle with the offenses outdueling the defenses along the way.

Toronto (117.4 points per game) and Detroit (116.4 points per game) are the No. 7 and No. 9 scoring teams during the last 10-game segment. The OVER has cashed in eight of Detroit's last 10 games and four straight at home. Detroit is 4-4 SU and 5-3 ATS on the second half of back-to-backs this year.home
