South Carolina’s Rushing Defense Off To A Rough Start In 2022

The Gamecocks opened their season with a 35-14 win and cover at home over the Georgia State Panthers that mostly went smoothly with the exception of allowing 200 rushing yards on 40 carries. That shaky rush defense was busted wide open in a 44-30 loss to the Arkansas Razorbacks on the road Saturday. Spencer Rattler has had his ups and downs in his first season with the Gamecocks. The former Oklahoma Sooners quarterback has completed 61.8 percent of his passes for 603 passing yards, two touchdowns and three interceptions.
