The Natural State hasn’t been kind to Tennessee, which has lost its last three games at Arkansas all by double-digits. The Volunteers have a chance to reverse that trend on Saturday, opening as a 13.5-point favorite against the Razorbacks in Fayetteville.
The unbeaten Volunteers have covered in all three of their games against FBS opponents thus far, most recently winning 25-15 at 7-point underdog Oklahoma before taking last week off. Arkansas enters at 3-2 overall and 1-3 ATS versus FBS programs, failing to cover as a 3.5-point underdog in last week’s 21-17 loss to Texas A&M in Dallas.

Tennessee vs Arkansas Picks – Week 6
While quarterback Taylen Green and running back Ja’Quinden Jackson give Arkansas a potent one-two offensive punch, the Razorbacks have been all over the map this season. They jumped out to a fast start before losing at Oklahoma State in overtime, struggled to put away 23.5-point underdog UAB at home, handled a bad Auburn team on the road, and were doomed by turnovers against Texas A&M despite outgaining the Aggies by nearly 100 yards.
When compared to that degree of inconsistency, Tennessee has been a paragon of stability. The Vols have subdued all four opponents thus far the same way, by running the ball effectively and playing excellent defense. The Volunteers lead the SEC in scoring offense, total defense and rushing offense, despite playing their two biggest games thus far away from home—against N.C. State on a neutral field in Charlotte, and against Oklahoma in Norman.
This week, it’s another road trip. Arkansas has bottled up the two best running backs it’s faced thus far, holding Oklahoma State’s Ollie Gordon to 49 yards and Auburn’s Jarquez Hunter to 76. But neither of those opponents also featured a quarterback like Nico Iamaleava, or a defense like the one Tennessee will bring to Razorback Stadium on Saturday.
Tennessee vs Arkansas Week 6 Pick: Tennessee -13.5 (-108)
The Razorbacks have split four FBS games against the total, while the Vols poured on the points against N.C. State and Kent State before grinding one out against Oklahoma. Perhaps the best barometer to use here is SEC opponents—Arkansas went UNDER against both Auburn and Texas A&M, while Tennessee went UNDER against the Sooners. That’s a trend that could well continue on Saturday.
Tennessee vs Arkansas Week 6 Pick: UNDER 60 (-110)

Tennessee vs Arkansas News
Arkansas coach Sam Pittman told reporters Monday that starting cornerback Jaylon Braxton is expected to miss the Tennessee game with a lingering tendon issue, while tight end Luke Hasz left the Texas A&M game with an apparent back injury and is uncertain for Saturday. Tennessee coach Josh Heupel told reporters that offensive linemen John Campbell and Lance Heard, who both entered the off week with injuries, will be ready to go at Arkansas.
Tennessee vs Arkansas Prop Bet: Dylan Sampson Anytime TD (-470)
Sampson, the Volunteers’ star running back, leads the SEC in rushing and in touchdowns, having reached the end zone 10 times in Tennessee’s first four games. He went for 92 yards and a score in Tennessee’s most recent game, against a very good Oklahoma defense. Arkansas will try to slow Sampson—but nobody’s done it yet.
