Browns vs Bills Picks & Odds: Buffalo Favored to End Losing Streak

The Buffalo Bills (6-3 SU, 4-4-1 ATS) will look to snap a two-game losing streak that has toppled them from the top of the AFC East when they meet the Cleveland Browns (3-6, 4-5) on Sunday in a game moved to Detroit due to a huge winter storm forecast to hit the Buffalo area this weekend. The Bills dropped a 33-30 overtime decision to Minnesota last week while the Browns fell 39-17 at Miami last weekend.

Browns vs Bills Sportsbook Odds

The Bills’ recent woes have not impacted the sportsbooks, where they have settled in as 7.5-point favorites since Sportsbook at -6.5. The total, which originally dropped a point to 43 after Sportsbook at 44, had shot up to 49.5 at most sportsbooks by Friday morning after the announcement of the venue change. Sunday afternoon’s matchup marks the first meeting between these teams since 2019.

The Browns earned a narrow 19-16 home win in their most recent clash, ending the Bills’ two-game win streak and extending a trend that has seen fewer than 40 total points scored in six of their past nine clashes. Accordingly, the UNDER is on a 6-3 run. Overall, the Bills have taken four of the last six from Cleveland.

Browns Stumble Out of Bye

The Browns entered their Week 9 bye on a high in the wake of their best performance of the season in a 32-13 win over Cincinnati. However, the team returned to more typical form in last weekend’s loss to the Dolphins. While Cleveland managed to open the scoring on the Sportsbook drive, the Browns were quickly outpaced by a potent Dolphins attack.

Jacoby Brissett managed to find the end zone for a second straight game while connecting on a respectable 62.9 percent of pass attempts. However, the Browns pivot has had limited time and space to work with at times and has now been sacked 14 times over the past four games. Now he must face a Bills defensive line that has racked up 27 sacks this season.

It’s also likely to be another busy day for rusher Nick Chubb. The 26-year-old has run for four majors over the past three games and has averaged over 100 rushing yards per game on the road this season.

Bills Seeking Redemption

There should be no shortage of motivation among the Bills going into Sunday’s contest in the wake of their first back-to-back losses of the season. However, the biggest concern surrounding this team continues to be the health of Josh Allen. The star pivot was in the lineup for last weekend’s heartbreaking loss to Minnesota after suffering an elbow injury in the team’s loss to the New York Jets in Week 9.

Allen connected on 29 of 43 pass attempts for 330 yards and one score, but also tossed two picks, including one in overtime that sealed the Vikings’ win. Overall, Allen has now thrown two interceptions in each of the past three games while finding the end zone just three times over that stretch.

Allen’s slump has resulted in a pair of scoreless performances for Stefon Diggs. However, the Bills’ top receiver has cracked the century mark in receiving yards in four of the past five games. In addition, rusher Devin Singletary is coming off a much-needed breakthrough performance after reaching the end zone for the first time this season with two scoring runs last weekend.

Browns: Keys to Win

Faced with a stout Bills defense, the Browns could opt to move the ball on the ground, keeping Nick Chubb busy. More important to their success will be for the defense to bounce back and return to the form that limited Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals to 229 total yards three weeks ago.

Bills: Keys to Win

Reports suggest Josh Allen is making a steady recovery. The challenge for him now will be to make improvements in his decision-making and accuracy, while also making use of Singletary and an expanded ground game after last week’s success. Keeping constant pressure on Brissett could also pay dividends, especially considering the 13 giveaways the Browns have committed this season.
