Commanders vs Cowboys Odds & Picks Week 18: WAS Favored

The Washington Commanders are 3.5-point road favorites in Week 17 versus the Dallas Cowboys as the NFL regular season concludes. The UNDER 46.5 is juiced at -115.

Washington has already secured a postseason berth, making it unlikely that Jayden Daniels and other key starters will play; however, that decision has yet to be finalized. Dallas, on the other hand, will gladly wrap up this mess of a season with Cooper Rush leading the way.

Commanders vs Cowboys Week 18 Picks

Commanders ML (-168)

There's uncertainty around if Daniels starts in Week 18, but even without the NFL ROTY in the lineup, Washington is worth a ML bet. Marcus Mariota is one of the NFL's better backup QBs and he can easily handle a Cowboys squad that will either be totally checked out or playing for incentives. The Commanders are 2-0 SU this year when Mariota plays a snap, and the Oregon product handled himself very well in limited action vs the Panthers earlier this year, throwing for 205 yards and two scores.

Washington should also be riding very high following its overtime win on Monday Night Football vs the Falcons. In that contest, the Commanders' offensive and defensive units showed tons of resilience.

Week 12 marked an all-time classic between these two squads. Dallas scored two kickoff-return TDs and Washington had control of the game until Austin Seibert missed an extra-point leading to the Commanders' demise. With Dan Quinn playing this game smart, he can outgame this Cowboys team and secure the victory.

Commanders vs Cowboys Week 18 Props

Rico Dowdle OVER rushing yards

Prop totals have not been released yet, but I'll be riding the OVER on Dowdle's rushing yards. The Cowboys running back has exceeded 100 yards rushing in three of his last four contests, including a 104-yard performance in a blowout loss to the Eagles in Week 17. He's getting the volume to make a difference.

Dowdle now faces the Commanders, who rank 27th in yards allowed to opposing running backs. Washington just allowed Bijan Robinson to rush for 90 yards and two scores, meaning Dowdle should be set for success.

Commanders vs Cowboys Week 18 Betting Trends

  • Washington is 3-7 SU in its last 10 games vs Dallas
  • Marcus Mariota is 2-4 SU in his last six games as a starting QB
  • The OVER is 11-5 in Cowboys games this year
