Vikings are the Best Bet in the NFL
The Minnesota Vikings (5-0 SU) have been arguably the biggest surprise of the young NFL season, and they’ll be fully rested for Week 7’s clash with the Philadelphia Eagles (3-2 SU) in the City of Brotherly Love.
When it comes to covering the spread, you won’t find a hotter football team than Minnesota. The Vikes rank as the league’s best bet at 5-0 ATS in 2016, and their success dates back even further. Minny went 13-3-1 ATS last year, one victory more than the Cincinnati Bengals in that department.
Don’t let the lack of home-field advantage deter you, as the Vikings are 9-0 ATS in their last nine road games. Books opened Mike Zimmer’s club as 2-point road faves with a total of 40.
When it comes to the total, OVER bettors should keep an eye out for value. The Eagles have gone OVER the number in 14 of their past 18 home games as dogs.
Philly started off the campaign by surprisingly collecting three straight W’s, but they’ve run into a bit of a wall since their Week 4 bye. The Eagles lost a squeaker to the Detroit Lions in Week 5, and last weekend’s 27-20 setback to division rival Washington left a lot to be desired. Philadelphia failed to cover the spread in both outings.
Sam Bradford has exceeded expectations under center for the Vikings, and any prior concerns about his inconsistent play have been put to rest. The 28-year-old has 990 yards through the air to go along with six touchdowns. Bradford has done a fantastic job of protecting the ball, as he has no interceptions through five weeks. The signal-caller’s 70.4 completion percentage is far and away the best mark of his career.
