Patriots Could Steamroll Jets in Week 12
Tom Brady and Bill Belichick will take their traveling act to East Rutherford this week to take on the 3-7 Jets at MetLife Stadium as the Patriots attempt to remain perfect on the road. New York is coming off a rare win in this matchup but hasn't won a game since barely getting by the now 0-11 Cleveland Browns in Week 8.
A trend to be wary of when heading to the betting window this weekend is that despite owning the Jets straight up in their last 10, New England has not covered the spread in six straight games against New York. With that said, the Jets are 0-15 SU and 2-12-1 ATS in their last 15 games with a closing total of 47 or more and the Patriots have been one of the best spread bets in pro sports over the past couple of months.
Tom Brady will most likely keep slinging the ball this week as the Pats are 5-0 when he’s thrown at least a touchdown and 0-1 when he hasn’t.
The Jets’ only three wins this year came when they held their opponents to 86 or fewer rushing yards. New England has been averaging 120 yards on the ground over its last five. Josh McDaniels and Belichick will likely have their way with the Jets defense on Sunday and it’s highly unlikely that Ryan Fitzpatrick keeps pace with Brady and the high-octane Patriots offense.
Since their push in Week 1, the Jets have not covered a spread in a game they’ve lost and I think it’s pretty safe to say the J-E-T-S are going to L-O-S-E this week.
