Cowboys Have Been an Awful ATS Bet at Home
Week 1 games can be a bit tricky to handicap since all the data we have to analyze dates back to last season, but one trend that’s impossible to ignore is the Cowboys’ atrocious 1-7-1 ATS record over their last nine games at home. They welcome the Giants to Texas on Sunday, and will also be looking to turn the tide on a 2-5 ATS mark against them when the teams meet in Dallas.
All eyes will be on Dak Prescott who’ll be filling in for Tony Romo for the foreseeable future. Despite their home ATS struggles, Dallas has gone 5-1 SU in its last six vs the Giants with four of those six games being decided by five points or less. Also of note regarding recent matchups between the teams is that they’ve hit the OVER in seven straight games against each other.
The Giants have been an absolute dud in recent Week 1 games, as they’ve gone 0-5 SU and 1-4 ATS. They’ll have a new man calling the shots this year though, as former offensive coordinator Ben McAdoo replaced Tom Coughlin in the offseason. It’ll be the same look under center with Eli Manning playing his 24th career game vs the Cowboys. He struggled against them in two games last season, combining for just 363 yards and zero touchdowns.
