Chiefs Have Been Bossing on Teams When Favored
The Jets and Chiefs face off in Week 3 action with both teams searching for their second win of the young NFL season. The Jets looked impressive in their Thursday nighter against the Bills and will have a few extra days of rest as they head to Arrowhead Stadium to take on Kansas City and the loudest crowd in the league.
This is the first matchup between these teams since the Chiefs beat the Jets by two touchdowns in KC two seasons ago. New York will have Ryan Fitzpatrick under center instead of Michael Vick this time around, so they should have a much better shot at staying in the game if Jamaal Charles doesn't go off in his first game back.
Getting over the hurdle of Rex Ryan and the Bills was a major feat for the Jets. New York went 0-2 against Buffalo last year, costing themselves a playoff spot in a season in which they finished 10-6. This win should give New York some confidence on the road as an underdog and they’ve gone 5-0-2 against the spread in their last seven as a dog.
New York could struggle away from the Meadowlands, however, as the visiting team is 0-5 in the last five games these teams have played. The Chiefs are also 5-1 against the spread in their last six against the Jets, only the last of which was quarterbacked by game manager Alex Smith.
There has only been one spread victory between these two teams so far this season so something’s got to give, right? All of Kansas City’s 11 wins in 2015 were by four points or more and all of the Jets’ 2015 losses were by five points or more.
