The Dallas Cowboys opened up as a 6-point favorite over the New Orleans Saints in a Week 2 contest with the total in this game set at 45.5. That might be a tad low since the 'Boys put up 33 points against Cleveland and the Saints pounded out 47 points against Carolina.
Who is that guy under center for the Saints? Looks like Derek Carr, but not the 2023 version. Last season, Carr was a little above average, hitting on 375-of0548 (68.4%) for 3,878 yards with 25 TDs and 8 INTs. Last week, yes it was against the Panthers, but Carr completed 19-of-23 (82.6%) for 200 yards with 3 TDs and zero INTs. He had a rating of 142.5 which is enormous.
This is an important game for the Saints because they have the Eagles next week, then hit the road for two games against the Falcons and the defending Super Bowl champion Chiefs.

Looks like Jerry Jones is feeling REALLY fine after shelling out $240 million of his bucks to lock up Dak Prescott for the next four years. Don't you worry about Double J because he and his 'Boys are the RICHEST team in the NFL worth $9 BILLION.
Dak looked like he might be worth every penny of the $240 mill, leading the Cowboys to a 33-17 win over the Browns last week. The key words in that sentence being 'might be.' Prescott was just a tickle above average, hitting on 19-of-32 (59.4%) for 179 yards, with just one TD. He was also sacked three times.
If I'm Derek Carr, and looking at the tape of the Dallas linebackers, my body is starting to shake. The Cowboys LBs are maybe the best group in the NFL led by the SUPER STAR Micah Parsons.
Last week, Parsons had just three tackles with one sack. But just having him on the field opens the door for the other two kids, and man are they special. Rookie DeMarvion Germanic Lee Overshown, maybe one of the best names ever, out of the University of Texas, was a BEAST, with 11 tackles, 5 solo and 1 sack. Eric Kendricks, in his first year wearing the Star, had 9 tackles, 6 solo and 2 sacks. Could be a little premature with this, but Carr is gonna be running for his FREAKIN' life!
Always like to take a look at home openers and how it works out in the W/L column. And we can report that the Cowboys are MONEY for the last seven years, with six wins and one loss.
Why all the history. Not sure who said it, but history repeats itself. And home cookin' is also a YUGE factor. The 'Boys pitched an 8-0 PERFECTO in the regular season at AT&T Stadium in 2023, 6-2 against the spread. So, Dak, plus a wicked scary group of LBs and some home cookin' is why the Bank of Benj is wide open deep in the heart of Texas.
