Let's close out the week with an NHL expert pick for each of the three games on the NHL schedule tonight, March 1.
Follow along for moneyline, totals and puckline bets.
NHL Expert Picks: March 1, 2024
Arizona Coyotes vs Ottawa Senators
The Game: Arizona Coyotes vs Ottawa Senators, 7 PM ET
Team | Puckline | Total | Moneyline |
---|---|---|---|
Arizona Coyotes | +1.5 (-148) | O6.5 (-118) | +160 |
Ottawa Senators | -1.5 (+124) | U6.5 (-102) | -192 |
Pick: O6.5 (-118)
We've seen more than 6.5 goals in four of the Coyotes' last six games. In the two games that went UNDER the line was 6.5 and six goals were scored. So both were really close to going OVER.
Ottawa has made it a habit lately of seeing the total go UNDER with a 6-2 record. But some habits are hard to hold. The Sens have hit the OVER 56% this year and are still seeing an average of 6.5 goals per game.
I don't trust Ottawa or the Coyotes defense. We'll see a bunch of goals in this one.
Philadelphia Flyers vs Washington Capitals
The Game: Philadelphia Flyers vs Washington Capitals, 7 PM ET
Team | Puckline | Total | Moneyline |
---|---|---|---|
Philadelphia Flyers | -1.5 (+210) | O6 (-110) | -120 |
Washington Capitals | +1.5 (-258) | U6 (-110) | +100 |
Pick: Capitals ML (+100)
We've been waiting for the Flyers to fall off for some time now and with Travis Konecny out the time has come. Philly is 1-2SU with him out.
Meanwhile, injuries have seemingly helped the Caps. With a long list of veterans out (Oshie, Backstrom, Wilson, and Kuznetsov), Washington is still winning. Over the past two weeks, they hold a 4-2SU record. I like their odds at +100 to win at home.
New Jersey Devils vs Anaheim Ducks
The Game: New Jersey Devils vs Anaheim Ducks, 10 pM ET
Team | Puckline | Total | Moneyline |
---|---|---|---|
New Jersey Devils | -1.5 (-102) | O6.5 (-122) | -250 |
Anaheim Ducks | +1.5 (-118) | U6.5 (+102) | +205 |
Pick: Devils -1.5 (-102)
Anaheim is awful this year. They deserve to be +205 dogs today. When heavy dogs (+200 or more), Anaheim is 5-14SU. But not only are they awful, but the Ducks are on the second leg of a back-to-back tonight.
And within that specific context, the Ducks are 2-5 against a +1.5 puck line. That's all I really need to take the Devils on the puckline.
