Ducks' Goal Scoring Frustrations Continue in 2016-17
The Ducks and ‘Nucks will cap this week’s NHL action with a game in Anaheim later today with the Ducks looking to regain their mighty status. It’s not been a welcome return to the City of Angels for Randy Carlyle as he didn’t earn his first win with the team until the fifth game of the season.
How Vancouver won their first four games is beyond me. They are an awful team that’s actually had just one lead so far this season. Their first loss came last night to the Kings but they almost managed to pull that one out too. I fully expect the Canucks to finish near the basement of the Western Conference and they can begin their descent to the bottom this evening against a Ducks team that has them heavily outclassed.
Anaheim’s major problem the last two years has been scoring. They managed to slide an average of just 1.95 goals per game past opposing netminders in 2015-16 and are scoring at about the same rate right now under Carlyle. If this Ducks team doesn’t start scoring soon, it could be early curtains for the Carlyle show.
There’s plus-money value on the UNDER right now and you might as well take it the way these teams – aren’t – burying the puck.
