The UFC Mexico City events always put the Mayan fighting spirit on full display. With that in mind, I've built out my UFC Mexico City parlays for this card on March 29.
I'm taking Brandon Moreno in the main event over Steve Erceg. Beyond that, I'll build out some fair parlays involving fight outcomes and rounds to boost my bankroll.
UFC Mexico City Parlay: My Main Plays (+241)
- Brandon Moreno ML (-225)
- Moreno/Erceg OVER 2.5 Rounds (-425)
- Pyfer/Gastelum Goes The Distance (-110)
I like this matchup for Moreno, who looked revitalized in his shutout win over Amir Albazi at UFC Edmonton. Steve Erceg brings aggression and solid grappling, but Moreno should have the edge on the feet and in scrambles. For betting, Moreno ML at -225 is great for parlays, and pairing it with the OVER 2.5 rounds adds value.
To cap it off, I'm betting Joe Pyfer vs Kelvin Gastelum to go the distance at -110. Pyfer has epic knockout power, but he's still fairly unproven, and Gastelum is a tough S.O.B. who's gone the distance in five of his last six fights.
UFC Mexico City Parlay: Hometown Heros (+301)
- Manuel Torres ITD (+105)
- Raul Rosas Jr. by decision (-110)
Rosas Jr., just 20 years old, continues to refine his striking while maintaining his dominant wrestling and grappling. Morales is a savvy veteran with solid boxing and a dangerous front choke, but he lacks the physical tools to match Rosas' speed and strength. Expect Rosas to control the fight with kicks and top pressure, making Rosas by decision the best bet.
For Manuel Torres vs Drew Dober, I like the violence to end in the Mexican's favor. Dober swears he'll enter the cage and throw hands Saturday, and the -500 UNDER 2.5 line suggests we'll have a fiery co-main event. In the end, Torres is the man here; his first four UFC fights have ended in Round 1, plus Dober has lost three of his last four fights, including two by stoppage.
