The Twins were boring and injured in 2024, blowing a playoff spot down the stretch to the surging Tigers. After an offseason of mostly nothing, can Minnesota bounce back?
In this 2025 Minnesota Twins season preview, I'll break down their latest odds, key projections, and the best bets for their upcoming campaign.
2025 Twins Odds: Division, NL Pennant, World Series
World Series Odds | AL Pennant Odds | AL Central Odds |
---|---|---|
+3000 | +1000 | +220 |
Odds as of March 25th from Sportsbook
As you'll probably figure out from the rest of this preview, I'm not that high on the Twins. Minnesota has the makings of a solid lineup, bullpen, and rotation, but it's filled with injury risks. If the Twins find depth — or the injured guys finally stay healthy — maybe this team can win the AL Central. But, I'm not sure they have a ceiling higher than that.
2025 Twins Win Total Odds
2025 Win Total | OVER | UNDER |
---|---|---|
84.5 | -106 | -115 |
Odds as of March 25th from Sportsbook
The Twins finished 82-80 last year with an expected record of, you guessed it, 82-80. The 2024 Twins were decidedly mediocre and I don't see things being much different this year. Minnesota had a chance to make some improvements this offseason and basically brought in nobody. If it wasn't for the White Sox sucking it up in this division, the Twins would be an under .500 team. I still think they go below 84.5 wins.
2025 Twins Playoff Odds
To Make Playoffs | To Miss Playoffs |
---|---|
+110 | -134 |
Odds as of March 25th
The American League playoff picture is a mess, so there's certainly a chance the Twins sneak in. But, I don't think it's a likely shot. Minnesota is clearly below the Yankees, Astros, Orioles, Red Sox, and Rangers for me. They're in a messy tier of the Royals, Guardians, Tigers, Mariners, Blue Jays, and Rays — all fighting for one or two spots.
With Minnesota not showing much of a will to win right now, I'm not loving their chances.
2025 Twins: AL MVP Odds, AL Cy Young Odds
MVP Candidate | Odds |
---|---|
Carlos Correa | +12000 |
Odds as of March 25th from Sportsbook
Cy Young Candidate | Odds |
---|---|
Pablo Lopez | +1600 |
Joe Ryan | +4500 |
Odds as of March 25th from Sportsbook
There isn't really an MVP candidate on this Twins roster, but they do have some top tier pitching. Pablo Lopez earned Cy Young votes in 2023, but I think Ryan is the better value play heading into 2025.
The 28-year-old took a big step last year, posting a 3.60 ERA and striking out nearly 10 batters per nine innings. If He can suppress the homers even a bit, Ryan has the punch outs and walks to be an elite rotation member and Cy Young candidate.
