The NL East is always the Senior Circuit's most hotly contested division. In 2025, the NL East odds reflect yet another exciting race, starting with the Phillies as favorites. After that, it's the Braves and Mets.
The Phillies won the division last season, ending Atlanta's reign of six straight titles. Can they do it again?

Philadelphia Phillies (+195)
Fresh off a 95-67 division-winning season, the Phillies added Jesús Luzardo to a rotation already led by Zack Wheeler and Aaron Nola. Max Kepler joins Harper and Turner to round out a killer lineup.
The Phillies are clearly built for October, but they haven't really played for the division often in recent years. Is 2025 the year Philly really goes hard in the regular season?
Atlanta Braves
The Braves finished second in 2024 (89-73) and are eyeing a return to the top. They’ve made quiet but solid offseason moves, though losing Max Fried and A.J. Minter hurts. Atlanta’s star power with Ronald Acuña Jr. and Spencer Strider keeps them in the driver’s seat, but the margin for error is slimmer this year.
They need to stay in the race, survive Jurickson Profar's suspension, and hope the Acuna and Strider returns help them chase down Philly and the Mets in the second half.
New York Mets
The Mets broke the bank with Juan Soto’s $765M deal, doubling down on their win-now mentality. New additions Frankie Montas and Clay Holmes should help, but Pete Alonso needs to bounce back. This roster is stacked, but Mets fans know how quickly "stacked" can turn into "disaster."
Overall, though, the Mets' outlook is better than ever.
Washington Nationals
The Nationals’ rebuild continues after a 71-91 slog last season. Adding Nathaniel Lowe and Josh Bell brings stability, but the real focus is on prospects like Dylan Crews. This team has zero chance to wi the division in 2025, but the future isn’t as bleak as the next team on our list. Maybe they can hang around the playoffs.
Miami Marlins (+29000)
The Marlins are coming off a 62-100 train wreck and aren’t even pretending to contend. With a gutted roster and no clear path forward, they’re the lock of the century for dead last.
