Phillies vs Marlins Same-Game Parlay: Fade Miami

I'm fading the Marlins in my MLB same-game parlay today.

The Marlins are easily the worst team in the NL East and match up against arguably the division's best pitcher tonight, Zack Wheeler. Give me the Phillies on the runline in this parlay.

Phillies vs Marlins Same-Game Parlay Pick No. 1: Phillies -1.5

The Marlins stink. They're 32 games back of the Phillies in the NL East (easily the worst team in the division) and have won just 12 of their last 30 games.

The Phillies are 6-4 against the Marlins this season, but have covered a -1.5 runline in five of those six victories (including three 4+ run blowouts).

With tonight's starter Edward Cabrera on the mound, the Marlins are even worse. Miami has lost four of his last five outings, with Miami's offense supplying the starter just 3.5 runs of support in that stretch.

On the flip side, the Phils are 7-3 in Zack Wheeler's last 10 outings. He has allowed over two runs in just one of those 10 starts.

Add in the fact that current Phillies hitters have a collective .401 on-base percentage and .855 OPS against Cabrera, and this pitching matchup pushes me to the Phils.

Phillies vs Marlins Same-Game Parlay Pick No. 2: Bryce Harper OVER 1.5 Total Bases

Bryce Harper is about as close to a 2+ total base lock as they come. In his last 13 games, Harper has gone over 1.5 total bases eight times. If you bet the O1.5 TB at this +110 line for each of Harper's last 13 games, you'd be up 3.8 units. He's also gone OVER 1.5 TB in half his games against the Marlins this year.

Harper's matchup against Cabrera is particularly fortuitous. Cabrera allows an .827 OPS to lefty hitters in general and has allowed three hits (two for extra bases) to Harper in seven career at-bats. That's good for a .429 average and 1.429 OPS.
