Our MLB player prop picks are armed and ready for Game 2 of the ALCS between the Yankees and Guardians. There were some standout performances in Game 1, and now we're back with more picks for Tuesday's game.
Here are my two MLB player prop picks today with breakdowns:
MLB Player Prop Pick Today: Aaron Judge UNDER 1.5 Total Bases (-150)
Guardians vs Yankees Odds - Game Time: 7:38 pm ET
Judge picked up an RBI sac fly yesterday, but he remains 3-for-15 this postseason. If he couldn't attack Guardians starter Alex Cobb in Game 1, I have little faith for his performance vs Tanner Bibee, the Guards' best starter.
Judge's UNDER 1.5 total bases has hit in five of six playoff games so far, and I'm not seeing anything in Judge's at-bats that would suggest he's primed for a breakout. Also, the eye test suggests UNDER is the right play. Judge isn't ambushing juicy pitches, and his contact, while still loud, is either on too high of a launch angle or pounded into the ground. Bibee has also never faced Judge before, which will give the right-hander an advantage.
MLB Player Prop Pick Today: Jose Ramirez OVER 0.5 Total Bases (-185)
Guardians vs Yankees Odds - Game Time: 7:38 pm ET
The good news about betting on a player like Ramirez is the immense sample size vs pitchers. It hasn't been Jose's finest postseason (.642 OPS), but the Dominican rakes against Cole. Ramirez is 12-for-34 lifetime vs the Yankees ace with two homers, three doubles, one triple, and seven RBIs. All told, that's a .353 BA and a 1.129 OPS.
The average is the key here. While a homer would be fun, I don't care how Ramirez gets it done for this OVER to cash. A swinging bunt would do the trick. Ramirez has cashed this OVER in just two of six playoff games, so it's not a lock by any means. But with fair value and Cole on the hill, it's one of the best player props available for Game 2 of the ALCS.
