The Blue Jays laid an egg yesterday, offering yet another reminder of why we can't even slack on our MLB expert picks.
The Jays remain stranded last in the AL East this year, and an ugly loss to the White Sox won't push the needle. Let's re-assess Toronto's series finale vs Chicago.

White Sox vs Blue Jays Computer Pick: Blue Jays moneyline, Over 8.5 runs
I'm going against the computer yet again. It worked yesterday, so why not repeat it?
White Sox vs Blue Jays Notable Players To Watch
SP Chris Bassitt (TOR): It's been no bed of roses lately for the slender right-hander, as he's allowed three runs or more in four of his last five starts. Bassitt owns a 5.88 ERA during that span. His command has been shaky, too, with the OVER 1.5 walks hitting in eight of nine starts this year. I love that as a prop bet Wednesday (+125).
Paul DeJong (CHW): The former Blue Jay enacted some revenge over his ex-team Monday, banging a homer and driving in two runs. DeJong has been Chicago's hottest hitter lately, slashing .293/.356/.512 over his last 45 plate appearances. He's a good bet to cash the OVER 0.5 total bases (-175).
white Sox vs Blue Jays Preview & Expert Pick — UNDER 8.5 Runs (-120)
White Sox starter Nick Nastrini (7.88 ERA) might be one of the worst pitchers in baseball right now, but I'm not sure his vulnerability constitutes an automatic OVER. The Jays offense is impotent, though Nastrini walks 7.9 batters per nine, so that should help Toronto get men on.
If the Jays bang in a few runs, Bassitt will stymie the White Sox, as I don't anticipate Toronto, even in such a lowly state, losing a series to the MLB-worst White Sox. Bassitt is also an UNDER machine lately; his Odds Shark pitcher logs reveal the UNDER has cashed in three straight starts. A fourth UNDER is likely Wednesday.

White Sox vs Blue Jays Preview & Expert Pick No. 2 — Blue Jays -1.5 (-125)
It's unsavory that Toronto is so heavily favored in this game. There's a big gap in starting pitching talent, and the odds are skewed accordingly. But to save any value, we must bet the runline. Here's how the bet hits:
While neither element is a guarantee, I'm willing to stake some money on the Blue Jays runline Wednesday. Watch for Bo Bichette (OVER 1.5 total bases -120) to make a difference. Over the last two weeks, the Jays shortstop owns a 1.308 OPS in the first, second, and third inning of games. His early magic will ensure our bet hits.
Beyond that, Bassitt must pitch deep to save Toronto's ugly, exhausted bullpen. I like the chances, too, as active White Sox hitters own a pedestrian .672 OPS vs Bassitt in their career.
