Irving Drops 50 Points To Lead Nets To Victory

Kyrie Irving put on a master class as he dropped 50 points to lead the Nets to a 132-121 win over the Charlotte Hornets in their last outing on Tuesday, while Kevin Durant scored just 14 points on 13 shots in his third game back from injury.

The extra rest seems to be helping Irving, who is still ineligible to play at home due to his vaccination status. The point guard is averaging 35.7 points per game in just three games since the all-star break, which may be helping his stat line but not necessarily the Nets, who are 2-5 in their seven games over that span.

LaMarcus Aldridge (hip) is out for Thursday’s matchup.

Embiid Helps 76ers Take Down Bulls

The 76ers earned a big 121-106 win over the Chicago Bulls on Monday to continue their climb up the Eastern Conference. Joel Embiid had another monster game, posting a double-double with 43 points and 14 boards while four others scored in double digits for Philadelphia.

Harden’s first game against the Nets will be the big storyline for this matchup, especially considering that he didn’t leave on the best terms. Since being acquired by the 76ers at the trade deadline, Harden is averaging 24.6 points and 12.4 assists per game – a noticeable step up from his 22.5 points and 10.2 assists with Brooklyn this season. The Sixers are also 5-0 when Harden suits up, so it’s safe to say that they’re loving the returns so far in Philly.

Paul Millsap (personal) is probable while Danny Green (finger) is doubtful.

Nets vs 76ers Pick & Insights

Nets: Keys To Cover

With both Durant and Irving in the lineup, the Nets should have enough offense to stay in the game – the question will be whether they can stop the surging 76ers. Philadelphia has scored 120-plus points in each of its last six wins while Brooklyn has been below average defensively this season, ranking 22nd (112 points against per game). They’ll need to find a way to bear down and contain Harden and Embiid.

76ers: Keys To Cover

Embiid is averaging a monstrous 31.1 points and 12.5 rebounds over his last 10 games as his MVP march continues and there’s no reason to think that he’ll slow down against Brooklyn. Harden will also have a chip on his shoulder playing against his former club, so expect him to have another impactful performance.
