Raiders vs Chiefs Picks & Odds: Kansas City Looks For 4-1 Start On MNF
The Kansas City Chiefs (3-1 SU, 2-2 ATS) will be playing in their second straight prime-time game when they host the Las Vegas Raiders (1-3, 1-3) as solid home favorites for the Week 5 Monday Night Football matchup.
The Chiefs are coming off a 41-31 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the Week 4 Sunday Night Football game, pulling off the small upset as 2-point road underdogs.
Raiders vs Chiefs Sportsbook Odds
Kansas City again looks like one of the best teams in the AFC and in the NFL overall, seemingly on a collision course to meet the Buffalo Bills for the conference championship. But it is still very early in the season, and Las Vegas found some new life last week with a 32-23 victory against the Denver Broncos, covering the spread as 2.5-point home favorites.
The Chiefs do host the Bills in Week 6, so this could be a potential look-ahead spot for them considering they just beat the Bucs as well. That is probably why the spread is only up to -7 in early betting action while the total has risen just slightly to 51 too.

Las Vegas Rides Jacobs And Defense To First Win Of The Year
The Raiders put together their best overall game of the season last week, and it is no coincidence that the performance resulted in their first win.
The Las Vegas defense still gave up some big plays to Denver quarterback Russell Wilson, but the team shut down the Broncos’ running game and outgained them by 127 yards on the ground thanks to Josh Jacobs.
The fourth-year running back from Alabama rushed for a season-high 144 yards on 28 carries and two touchdowns to carry the offense. That took pressure off quarterback Derek Carr, who also rushed for a season-high 40 yards on seven carries.
Kansas City Knows Not To Look Past This Opponent In Week 5
The Chiefs were stunned by the Raiders 40-32 at home as 10.5-point favorites around this time two years ago, and they have made sure their AFC West rivals have lost this divisional matchup ever since. In the last three meetings, Kansas City has outscored Las Vegas 124-54 in winning all of them and going 2-1 ATS.
The past four meetings have all finished OVER the total, so there should be some more offensive fireworks at Arrowhead. However, the Raiders have managed to score 23 points total in the last two games between the teams, so the Chiefs defense has done its job in holding them in check.
Raiders: Keys To Win
Another strong defensive effort by Las Vegas will be the key here. The Kansas City offense is so high-powered and dangerous that the only real way to stop it is to force quarterback Patrick Mahomes into turnovers.
In the Chiefs’ lone loss to the Indianapolis Colts, Mahomes threw an interception that turned the tide of the game. He threw another at Tampa Bay, but the result was already pretty much decided. The Raiders cannot win this game without forcing some turnovers as they did vs the Broncos.
Chiefs: Keys To Win
Kansas City simply needs to push the tempo in this one offensively and force Las Vegas to try to play catch-up on the scoreboard.
The Chiefs followed this game plan perfectly against the Buccaneers last week, and not even the greatest quarterback of all time could put together enough scoring plays at the end to beat them. The Raiders are a good team offensively, but Carr is no Tom Brady, and he can be rattled if pressured enough.
