The undefeated Kansas City Chiefs travel to Sin City to take on the Las Vegas Raiders as ten point favorites in Week 8 action between AFC West teams who don't seem to like each other.
The Chiefs will be looking to seek revenge from last season's unexpected Raiders win on Christmas Day. Patrick Mahomes will be looking to answer back to the Raiders viral video from training camp mocking him and his voice with a Kermit the Frog doll wearing his jersey. At the time, Mahomes told reporters, "It'll get handled when it gets handled."

Chiefs vs Raiders Picks Week 8
Chiefs to score 1st (-210)
While Patrick Mahomes has been playing it cool and acting like the disrespect mentioned above didn't get to him, I have to imagine this game is now personal for Mahomes. In his return to the stadium where he won a super bowl a few month ago, Mahomes would love nothing more than to jump out to an early lead in this one and rub the Raiders nose in it all game long.
I'm expecting a masterpiece from Andy Reid on the first 15 scripted plays vs. a Raiders defense which has plenty of holes in it. Las Vegas has allowed 30+ points to the Steelers, Broncos, and Panthers and Andy Reid should be able to exploit that unit early on.
It's tough to say how much playing time new toy DeAndre Hopkins (see below) will see in this one, but he should be able to thrive on the opening drive when he knows what plays are coming and doesn't have to have the playbook mastered.
Chiefs vs Raiders Prop Pick
It’s a little too early in the week to pick a player prop for the game because sportsbooks haven’t given us a full selection yet, but check back here later in the week for my favorite player prop in the Chiefs vs. Raiders game.
Chiefs vs Raiders News
The biggest news between these two teams this week was Kansas City trading for Titans wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins. D-Hop only has 173 yards and a touchdown on 15 catches so far this season but that's been mostly with Will Levis at quarterback. Chiefs fans have their hopes set high that Hopkins can return closer to pro bowl form with Mahomes throwing him the ball.
This Chiefs worst concerns were confirmed this week when it was announced that cornerback Jaylen Watson's ankle injury would require surgery. Watson was having a great season with a 74.2 PFF.com coverage grade on 221 coverage snaps.
Without Watson, Nazeeh Johnson figures to get most of the starting snaps behind Trent McDuffie, but his PFF coverage grade is only 45.3 on 85 coverage snaps this year. Johnson was drafted in 2022 and didn't play a snap in 2022 or 2023.
