The surging Winnipeg Jets meet the slumping Pittsburgh Penguins at PPG Paints Arena in downtown Pittsburgh tonight. With the Pens' poor play lately, BET99 has made them +135 home dogs and the Jets -155 road favorites.
I'll gladly take the Jets at -155, they've won three of the last four meetings against the Penguins and have bounced back from two straight losses by pummeling the defending Stanley Cup champions Florida 6-3 a few nights ago.
See our same-game parlay for this matchup below. Our NHL staff packaged the OVER, a Kyle Connor goal and Mark Scheifele's shot prop hitting for +550 odds.

Jets vs Penguins Picks
Winnipeg Jets ML (-155) at BET99
I'm surprised the Jets aren't bigger road favorites tonight, the Canes, Stars, and Lightning were all favored by more when they played in Pittsburgh this year. I understand that the Jets may have lost two of their last three games, but books shouldn't forget that they've won 12 of 13 games before that. The trends show that road favorites with -150 odds (or less) have been successful this year holding a 30-22SU (58%) record, including the 2023 season the record improves to 197-111SU (64%).
I get that Pittsburgh still has Crosby and Malkin but they've lost Kris Letang recently and without the classy defenseman the Pens are 1-2SU needing a shootout against the lowly Sharks to earn that lone victory. Pittsburgh is vulnerable at home holding a flat 0.500 record and only winning two of their last five home games, those wins came against the Sharks and over the equally poor Habs.
There are a few bright spots for the Penguins though, Anthony Beauvillier has scored five points in his last five games, Sidney Crosby has four points and 17 shots in five games, and Jesse Puljujarvi has goals in back-to-back games while averaging three shots on net in his last five games. OVER 1.5 shots on net for Puljujarvi is -150 at BET99.
But those few bright spots aside, I'm ultimately going with the Jets who've been outstanding on the road this year with the third-best points percentage in the league, so I'm not about to bet against them specifically when their opposition is the Penguins. I'll gladly take the Jets on the moneyline at -155.
Jets vs Penguins Same Game Parlay
Despite the UNDER hitting in six of the last seven meetings between these two teams, we decided to take the OVER anyway. Tristan Jarry likely gets the start after his best game of the season stopping 32 of 35 shots in a 3-2 loss to the Lightning, but the veteran goalie has been dreadful all year with a 0.863 save percentage and 4.72 goals-against average. The Jets need little help scoring thanks to holding the league's best offense with 4.21 goals per game so having Jarry between the pipes makes their job a lot easier and the OVER likely.
Speaking of offensive leaders, Kyle Connor leads the Jets for goals with 12 on the year and has three goals in his last four games. He also scored on these Penguins earlier in the year. We think he's an excellent candidate to score against a poor Penguins side who'll have a terrible goalie between the pipes.
Scheifele has been shooting a lot lately with 10 shots in his last four games, an average of 2.5 per game. So why do we think he goes OVER his recent average tonight? The Penguins allow a lot of shots, allowing the third most shots per game at 32.9 an average that has only gone up over their last five games with 33.6 shots against. We feel the Pens will give Scheifele all the opportunities he needs to hit his player prop tonight.
Jets vs Penguins Player Prop Pick
Bryan Rust OVER 0.5 Points (-125) at BET99
Rust has scored at least one point in 12 of his last 15 home games per Outlier, an incredible form that I'm tapping into for tonight's player prop.
Being attached to Crosby's hip was somehow not productive for Rust, he scored no points in 95 minutes of 5on5 time with Sidney Crosby, but moving him to Malkin's wing is working with four points at 5on5 in his last seven games and Malkin has always been productive against the Jets with 25 points in 22 career games. So with Rust's great home form and his newfound success with Malkin, I'm taking the OVER on his points prop tonight.
