Game 6: panthers vs bruins preview & pick
The Game: Florida Panthers vs Boston Bruins, 7 PM ET
Team | Puckline | Total | Moneyline |
---|---|---|---|
Florida Panthers | -1.5 (+180) | O5.5 (+105) | -148 |
Boston Bruins | +1.5 (-218) | U5.5 (-125) | +124 |
Josie's Take: With their backs up against the wall, the Bruins defense and Jeremy Swayman will be standing tall with their season on the line. We saw the last two games hit the UNDER with Boston allowing just one goal in the last outing.
Having a difficult time managing Florida, Swayman stepped up and recorded a whopping .966SV% in Game 5. With Boston losing both games at TD Garden this series, I'm not confident laying my money on them. When their defense lacks, the Bruins coughed up 15 goals in three straight games. I think ahead of this matchup, they've learned their lesson. I'll roll with the UNDER.
Pick: UNDER 5.5 (-125)
Tail Josie's +447 same-game parlay for tonight!
Michel's Take: I sat here looking at a blank screen for longer than I care to admit. I don't know where to go here. I want to back Florida, but a 2-2SU record in Boston this year isn't giving me a ton of confidence. Nor does the fact that they lost 2-1 but still put up 2.4 xG in Game 5.
The total has also swung unpredictably in this series with the OVER hitting in three straight and now the UNDER hitting in back-to-back games.
So I'm going as safe as can be by taking the +1.5 puckline. Through these playoffs, the +1.5 puckline has performed very well going 47-18 (72%). The returns are marginal with an average winning line of -216 (or 0.46 units), but that's ok. With a 47-18 record, blindly taking the +1.5 puckline from day 1 of the playoffs would still net you +4.7 units so far.
Pick: Bruins +1.5 (-218)
Game 6: Stars vs avalanche preview & pick
The Game: Dallas stars vs colorado avalanche, 10 PM ET
Team | Puckline | Total | Moneyline |
---|---|---|---|
Dallas Stars | +1.5 (-250) | O6.5 (+102) | +100 |
Colorado Avalanche | -1.5 (+205) | U6.5 (-122) | -120 |
Josie's Take: I had no faith in Colorado last game, losing Nichushkin and Georgiev's instability seemed like a recipe for disaster. Yet, the Avs put it all aside to live to see another day.
It was the same core stepping up with Lehkonen, Makar, Mittelstadt and MacKinnon all edging at least one goal last game. Not to mention, taking advantage of extra man opportunities going 2-for-3.
Though a Conn Smythe contender who is able to steal some games, Oettinger isn't impossible to put the puck past. The OVER is 7-3 in their last 10 meetings and if Colorado's season continues, chances are it is a high scoreboard.
Pick: OVER 6.5 (+102)
Check out Michel's +440 same-game parlay for Dallas vs Avalanche
Michel's Take: When this series is in Denver the total is UNDER. That seems to be the pattern so far. Of the four games played at Ball Arena between these rivals all season, the total is 3-1 vs the UNDER. Extend the lens to the 2020 season and the total is 5-2 vs the UNDER.
Colorado scored 1.34 goals above expected in Game 5, it wasn't a great game from Oettinger who put up a smelly 0.815SV%. When Otter stops less than 82% of the pucks he faces he bounces back with a 6-1SU record and holding a 0.932SV% and 1.87GAA.
A better performance between the pipes for Dallas will be enough to see the UNDER hit tonight.
Pick: UNDER 6.5 (-122)
