The New York Rangers host the Ottawa Senators at MSG tonight after a humbling 5-3 loss to Washington two nights ago. BET99 has the Rangers as -190 home favorites against Ottawa, a line I will bite on thanks to New York's 18-5SU (78%) record in their last 23 games as at least -180 favorites.

Senators vs Rangers Picks Tonight
Rangers ML (-190)
New York has been a beast at home with a 32-13SU (71%) record dating back to last season and that previously mentioned 18-5SU (78%) record when favored at -180 or more. That home comfort will pair nicely with their desire to make up for that 5-3 to the Capitals.
On a plus, Matt Rempe isn't in the lineup, New York is 23-11SU at home when Rempe doesn't play. The 6-7 pugilist logged five minutes of penalties against Washington with a fight early in the game, a fight that did nothing to advance the Rangers' cause with the Caps scoring less than a minute later. Why they keep him on the roster is beyond me.
Appears as if Brodzinski is in tonight v Senators.

It's hard to trust Ottawa, which looked like world beaters in an 8-1 win over St. Louis two nights ago but looks completely disjointed 6-4 and 5-4 losses to Vegas and Colorado respectively. With Ottawa's poor road record at 17-28SU (38%) since 2023, I'm going to back the favored Rangers tonight.
Senators vs Rangers Player Prop
Alexis Lafreniere OVER 0.5 Points (-130)
With eight points in nine games and two points in his last three games, Lafreniere is in great form, a continuation from last year when he scored 18 points in his final 17 games. Per Outlier, Laf has gone OVER 0.5 points in seven of his last nine games (78%).
Ottawa is bad defensively giving up 12 goals in their last three games (4.00 per game) and is even worse at 5on5 with the eighth-worst defensive rate allowing 2.90 goals per 60. Lafreniere does most of his damage at 5on5 where he's scored 96% of his 77 career goals and 92% of his 156 career points. I'll easily back Lafreniere who's this good at 5on5 and that's playing on the Rangers' top line with Artemi Panarin.
