Michel's Take: While a win is expected, I don’t trust that German backline to secure a clean sheet. Germany has only kept its opponents scoreless four times in the last 21 matches, and two of those matches were Oman and Ukraine.

Not a convincing record. Now add in that this Scotland team can score.

Scotlands aggressive attack provided 17 goals through eight qualifying matches (2.125 per game) and in two prep matches for this tournament, Scotland scored four. Keeping up with that 2 goals per game average.

Again, I’m confident Germany wins the opener, but with their not-so-solid defensive history and with Scotland’s ability to score I can see the Tartan Army covering a +1.5 spread at -105.

Pick: Scotland +1.5 (-105)

Chris Walder's Take: The host nation should be looking to run the table with nine points in Group A with little resistance along the way. That begins on Friday against a Scottish squad that will be hard-pressed to score goals not just in the opener, but against Switzerland and Hungary as well. Scotland has only defeated Germany four out of a possible 17 times in its history, and has conceded at least two goals in four of their last six fixtures including four versus the Dutch in a friendly back in March. Germany, meanwhile, maintained clean sheets in two of their last four matches while scoring exactly two on three of those occasions.

Pick: Germany 2-0 (+400)

Andrew's Take: Both teams have scored in seven of Germany’s last 10 friendlies leading up to this one and Scotland has scored in its last four meetings with the Germans. With “Yes” paying around +120, it feels like a bonnie bet.

Pick: GER v SCO Both Teams to Score (+120)

Nick Holz's Take: Germany have scored multiple goals in each of their games played this year, barring a strange 0-0 draw with Ukraine earlier this month, in which they should have scored four or five times.

Die Mannschaft have far more quality spread throughout their squad, and should find little resistance to scoring against a weak Scottish backline. The Scots have given up multiple goals in nearly every game played in the leadup to this tournament, and just drew Finland 2-2 last week. Spain, France and the Netherlands each scored at least twice against Scotland in qualifying and I love the value on Germany to do the same today.

The hosts four or more goals prop sits at enticing +380 odds, and I also really like the value on Germany to score in both halves at -104.

Pick: Germany to score in both halves (-104), Germany to score four or more goals (+380)
