The Bronx Bombers are poised for another big season. Sure, the club lost Juan Soto to the crosstown Mets, but the Yankees front office responded with some big offseason moves.
The Yanks signed starter Max Fried to a big deal and traded for star closer Devin Williams. After that, the Yanks got Cody Bellinger from the Cubs and signed veteran slugger Paul Goldschmidt. There's enough offense to go around, and with reigning AL MVP Aaron Judge in charge, the Yanks have a strong shot to repeat as AL champions.
In this 2025 Yankees season preview, I’ll explore the latest odds, highlight key matchups, and uncover the best bets for the team this year.
2025 Yankees Odds: Division, AL Pennant, World Series
World Series Odds | AL Pennant Odds | AL East Odds |
---|---|---|
+800 | +250 | -105 |
Odds as of Feb. 6
The Yankees are second on the World Series odds board (behind the Dodgers) and thus favored in all the AL odds. I like a bet on the Yanks to win the AL Pennant again at +250, but those odds likely won't entice many casual future bettors. A lot has to go right for the Yanks to reach consecutive World Series games, and there's plenty of patience involved as a bettor.
Instead, you could build a futures parlay, starting with the Yanks to win the AL East as your first leg. I don't see Baltimore as a very big threat to New York in 2025, and the Rays and Blue Jays won't even come close. While Boston could be sneaky at +480 to win the division, the Sox's chances are still slim.
2025 Yankees Win Total Odds
2025 Win Total | OVER | UNDER |
---|---|---|
93.5 | -110 | -110 |
Odds as of Feb. 6
The Yanks won 94 games a season ago, leaning heavily on an offensive tandem of Judge and Soto. The Yankees pitched fine as a team a year ago but the offense lacked depth. Anthony Volpe had a poor season, as did Alex Verdugo. Austin Wells hit cleanup in the regular season despite a .703 OPS. Giancarlo Stanton batted .233. When the club's pitching tired down the stretch, NY faded a bit, with a 36-28 SU second-half record compared to a 58-40 pre-All-Star break record.
I'm not doubting the Yanks talent, especially after all these additions, but a lot went right for the club to win 94 games. My early prediction has the Yanks going UNDER 93.5 wins. It will still be enough to win the division, but I don't foresee a 95- or 96-win season in 2025.
2025 Yankees Playoff Odds

I would be stunned if the Yanks did not make the playoffs. This is a lock to cash at -450.

Gerrit Cole | +1400 |
Max Fried | +2500 |
Luis Gil | +3000 |
Odds as of Feb. 6
Judge seems to get better and better every year. I remember thinking he would never top his 2022 season when he hit 62 homers and posted a 10.5 WAR. Well, he hit 58 homers, posted a .458 OBP, and walked away with a 10.8 WAR in 2024, cruising to his second AL MVP. The at-bats I saw from Judge (excluding the WS) tell me he's seeing the ball better than ever. Now, he's +300 to repeat, and to those odds I say: bombs away. Have no fear in betting judge to repeat as MVP.
As far as AL Cy Young goes, Cole's +1400 odds are well-placed. After recovering from injury, the right-hander posted a fair 3.41 ERA in 17 starts. His numbers looked much more like the Cole from 2022 and 2021 — All-Star level, but not Cy Young caliber. I would be very surprised if Cole had a resurgence and snatched the Cy Young, so I'm steering clear.
Unfortunately, I'm not sure if either Max Fried or Luis Gil have a chance. Gil walks far too many batters to be effective over the 170+ innings it takes to win the award, and Fried, while sharp, doesn't whiff enough batters to steal the hardware.
