Bo Bichette Blue Jays

MLB Same-Game Parlay Today: Blue Jays vs Red Sox (+450)

It's a new day, so that means another MLB same-game parlay. And we're back to the AL East again, as the Blue Jays ready for another tough game vs the Red Sox at Fenway Park.

Here are three legs for my Blue Jays vs Red Sox same-game parlay:

Blue Jays vs Red Sox Same-Game Parlay: June 26th

The Game: Blue Jays vs Red Sox -  7:10 p.m. ET

BetOdds
Yariel Rodriguez UNDER 3.5 Strikeouts-105
Bo Bichette UNDER 1.5 Total Bases+100
Red Sox ML-150
Overall+450

Same-Game Parlay Pick No. 1: Rodriguez UNDER 3.5 Strikeouts

I'm quite confident in this bet as a total fade of Rodriguez, the Jays' Cuban lefty who hasn't stayed healthy this season. Yariel has battled a back injury since spring training, and that ailment has prevented him from stretching out fully, basically guaranteeing he won't pitch more than three of four innings Wednesday vs Boston.

And that short leash helps our bet on his UNDER strikeouts prop. Rodriguez's strikeouts went OVER 3.5 in two of his first three outings back in April. His last three, including a one-inning disaster last time out vs Cleveland, have gone UNDER 3.5 strikeouts.

Additionally, the Red Sox have cut down their strikeout rate of late. On the season, they are near the top of the league in highest whiff rates, but Boston has cut back to a 22.2% strikeout rate over the last two weeks, putting them 19th in MLB.

Same-Game Parlay Pick No. 2: Bichette UNDER 1.5 Total Bases

There are a lot of ways you can look at this bet. I'll start with the eye test I conducted upon Bichette's return to the lineup Tuesday. The Blue Jays shortstop looked silly at the plate, striking out on three pitches in his first at-bat and finishing the day 0-for-4 with a walk in a game where all his teammates went off for big days. Bichette's timing has eluded him all season. It appears his 10 days on the injured list did not improve the situation.

Overall, Bichette has decent numbers vs Red Sox starter Kutter Crawford. Bo is 2-for-9 with a homer, a double, and three RBIs. So, why am I fading him? He has also struck out in five of those nine at-bats vs Crawford. And this 2024 version of Bichette is nowhere near the Bo from years prior.

So, let's assume Bichette's power and timing are gone, and we know Crawford can strike him out. All the pieces are in place for an UNDER 1.5 total bases prop, especially at even odds.

Same-Game Parlay Pick No. 3: Red Sox ML

In a perfect world, Boston dominates Toronto in all phases of the game because the Sox are a better squad at the end of the day. Boston is certainly a better hitting team; they own the Crawford vs Rodriguez pitching duel, and nobody in baseball owns a worse 'pen than Toronto does right now.

In fact, the Blue Jays' busted bullpen helps me lock in my bet on the Red Sox ML. Toronto used Trevor Richards and Chad Green yesterday. Now, those two arms could pitch again Wednesday, but they'd be tired, if that were the case. And if Toronto doesn't use its top two arms, a circus of Nate Pearson, Tim Mayza, and Genesis Cabrera highlight the remaining options. We saw that crew blow a four-run Blue Jays lead on Monday.
