2025 Best Bets: World Series Picks
Texas Rangers (+2200 at Sportsbook)
Mitch: I’m writing off 2024 for the Rangers — a classic World Series hangover season sabotaged by slumps and injuries.
This is still an absolutely loaded lineup that got even better with the additions of Joc Pederson, Jake Burger, and Kyle Higashioka. A healthy Jacob deGrom and the upside of top prospects Jack Leiter and Kumar Rocker should elevate the rotation. Plus, bullpen issues have been largely squashed with Chris Martin and Robert Garcia in the fold.

This is a solid all-around team with arguably the league’s best lineup. With a very similar build to the team that won it all in 2023, I don’t see why the Rangers can’t do it again.
Other 2025 MLB Futures Best Bets
Red Sox To Win the AL Pennant (+700 at Sportsbook)
Ethan: The addition of Alex Bregman puts the Red Sox in an excellent position to contend for the AL pennant in 2025. With Jarren Duran blossoming into a potential MVP-caliber player, Boston gains an electrifying presence at the top of its lineup. This is the first time in years the team has showcased genuine depth, pairing Bregman and Rafael Devers with a rejuvenated supporting cast. Combined with its improved pitching rotation, Boston possesses the talent and firepower to outshine its American League rivals.
It's funny to see the Red Sox third on the AL Pennant odds board (even though that's probably where they belong), as it suggests the Junior Circuit isn't as strong as years past. Boston is good value at +700, as its strong lineup and decent bullpen give the club an edge over AL East squads, for example. Injuries to Kutter Crawford, Brayan Bello, and Lucas Giolito put a damper on the first month of the season, but those ailments shouldn't be long-term issues.
Royals to win the AL Central (+300 at Sportsbook)
Ethan: In a division lacking a clear frontrunner, the Royals offer compelling value at +300. Kansas City is well-positioned to capitalize on the uncertainties within the AL Central, and its postseason experience from last year adds to its credibility as a legitimate contender for the division crown. Somehow, some way, the Royals will work their magic.
Brewers To Win NL Central (+275 at Sportsbook)
Mitch: We always underestimate the Brewers. They always prove us wrong.
Last year, the Brewers traded away Corbin Burnes and lost Brandon Woodruff to injury, and still easily won this division. Why would we expect anything different in 2025? A minus-money favorite hasn't won this division in eight years, so I'm quite happy to take the Brewers at +290.
Mets to win the NL East (+180 at Sportsbook)
Ethan: The Mets’ rotation has the perfect mix of veterans and prime-aged talent, making it one of the most balanced in baseball. Their defense, anchored by Francisco Lindor, quietly ranks among the league’s best and will save plenty of runs in a tough division. Add in Soto’s game-changing bat, and this team has all the tools to outlast its rivals in a long season. At +180, there’s solid value here for a team built to contend.
Corbin Burnes NL Cy Young (+1500 at Sportsbook)
Mitch: It'll be hard to win the Cy in a loaded NL West, but Burnes is an outlier himself.
The 30-year-old has earned Cy votes in each of the last five years and won the award back in 2021. He posted a great 2.92 ERA and 3.5 bWAR last year, but I think the upside is higher entering 2025.
Late last season, Burnes made an adjustment to his signature cutter, getting back to the pitch shape he had in 2022 and 2023. The results down the stretch were incredible, as Burnes posted a 1.29 ERA and 35 strikeouts in his final six outings. Carrying that into 2025 could elevate him back to Cy Young form.
