Blue Jays vs Red Sox MLB Preview

NRFI Picks Today: Keep It Cool In Boston

It’s April 9, and we’ve got a full Wednesday slate loaded with value, including a few strong NRFI bets today worth targeting.

I’m riding with the NRFI in the Marlins vs. Mets and Blue Jays vs. Red Sox games later today. Both feature compelling pitching matchups. Let’s get into it.

NRFI Pick Today: Marlins vs. Mets (-135 at Sportsbook)

Marlins vs. Mets Odds – Game Time: 1:10 p.m. ET

With both starting pitchers in top form, the NRFI in New York is an appealing play. Tylor Megill has been exceptional, boasting a 0.87 ERA over his first two starts this season. In his most recent outing, he delivered 5 1/3 scoreless innings, allowing just two hits and striking out four.

Opposing him, Max Meyer has recorded a 3.09 ERA with 15 strikeouts in 11.2 innings pitched. Given the Marlins' generally weak offense and the Mets' solid defense, the conditions favor a scoreless first inning. I'm confident in both pitchers, and I’ll gladly take the NRFI at -135 on BetMGM.

NRFI Pick Today: Blue Jays vs. Red Sox (-120 at Sportsbook)

Blue Jays vs. Red Sox Odds – Game Time: 6:45 p.m. ET

The bats went ice cold at Fenway last night, and we could be in for more of the same with another frigid evening in the forecast. It was 40 degrees and windy on Tuesday — no one scored until the sixth inning — and conditions won’t be much different tonight.

Kevin Gausman gets the nod for Toronto, and he’s consistently handled this Boston lineup, holding them to a .653 OPS across 135 career at-bats. The splitter should play even better in cold, dry air.

But the real edge here might be Tanner Houck, who has dominated Blue Jays hitters. In 88 at-bats, they’ve managed just a .182 average, a .227 slugging percentage, and a .461 OPS. That's shutdown stuff.

Two pitchers with elite numbers vs these specific lineups, plus brutal hitting weather? I’m jumping on the NRFI at -120 on FanDuel.
