Orioles vs Yankees

MLB Same-Game Parlay Today: Orioles vs Yankees (+375)

I'm ending my week (off tomorrow!) with another AL East MLB same-game parlay. I've got three legs for a matchup between the Baltimore Orioles and New York Yankees that's got some serious implications for the division race.

After the O's managed to spoil Gerrit Cole's return last night, here are the three legs for my Orioles vs Yankees same-game parlay:

Orioles vs Yankees Same-Game Parlay: June 20th

The Game: Orioles vs Yankees - 4:05 p.m. ET

BetOdds
Adley Rutschman Over 0.5 Hits-200
Gunnar Henderson Over 0.5 Walks+115
Orioles Moneyline+124
Overall+375

Same-Game Parlay Pick No. 1: Rutschman Over 0.5 Hits

Adley Rutschman is almost underrated at this point. The Orioles backstop is hitting .292 this season with an .809 OPS and 14 homers. One split I've noticed, though, is Rutschman becomes even better on the road. The Orioles catcher is hitting .326 away from Baltimore this season, and he plays in New York tonight. He faces a tough matchup in Luis Gil, but it's doable to get a hit.

Gil has been really good at suppressing hits this season, but lately he's flashed a bit of a weakness. The young Yankee starter has allowed nine knocks over his last two outings. Rutschman, however, is 0-for-3 in his career against Gil, so I'm expecting a first career hit tonight.

Same-Game Parlay Pick No. 2: Gunnar Henderson Over 0.5 Walks

This is the bet I'm most confident about of this entire parlay.

Henderson currently leads the Orioles in walks with 39 (16 more than any other player on the team). He's got 10 walks in 17 games this month, pushing his on-base percentage up to an astounding .371.

Crucially, the Orioles also face a starter in Luis Gil who leads the American League in walks. The righty has 39 free passes this season, walking four or more batters in four separate starts this year (including his last time out).

Same-Game Parlay Pick No. 3: Orioles Moneyline

Frankly, this is a value play from me.

I get that the Yankees have won Gils' last nine starts and he's got a 9-1 record this season. But, I view this contest as more of a 50-50 than the odds indicate. Cole Irvin has been pretty solid this season, posting a 3.03 ERA and striking out 15 batters to just two walks in three outings this month. If you look at ERA, Gil looks like an edge for the Yankees. But, per Fielding Independent Pitching, this one's basically even with Gil posting a 3.07 and Irvin rocking a 3.4 FIP.

Maybe the Yankees win this one, but at +124 the O's moneyline is the value play today. The Orioles are 10-5 as underdogs already this season.
