Dodgers vs Marlins Betting Preview

YRFI/NRFI Picks For Today: Marlins To Implode

Wake up MLB bettors, we've got Y/NRFI picks to hit. Instant MLB action is the way to go these days, so follow my best bets and trends ahead of a good day for baseball.

Here are my two Y/NRFI picks for Tuesday, June 18:

Pick 1: Padres vs Phillies: No run First inning (+100)

Matchup Preview - Game Time: 6:40 pm ET

This series has been up and down. One day, Zack Wheeler, our former NRFI GOAT is mashed for four homers and a YRFI. Next day? Silence in the first inning for a NRFI. Pick a lane, boys!

This time I've finally got my pulse on the game thanks to the starting pitching matchup. Despite Aaron Nola's wavering stretch lately, he's delivered three straight NRFIs, upping his record to 11-3 NRFI this year. That's damn reliable. It's made better by Michael King's 12-2 NRFI record, an impressive feat given the Padres propensity for first-inning scores (43-33 YRFI).

For example, King owns a 1.29 ERA in the first inning this season, while Nola comes in at 2.57 ERA. Both pitchers have allowed just two first-inning homers, which will play bigger against fearsome lineups.

Pick 2: cardinals vs Marlins: yes Run First Inning (-115)

Matchup Preview - Game Time: 6:10 pm ET

My boy Roddery Munoz is a pretty safe bet for a run in the first inning (3-2 YRFI). As I profiled in today's expert picks, this game presents a wonky pitching matchup. Lance Lynn hasn't been great for the Cards lately, but St. Louis finds a way to win when he's out there. Meanwhile, Marlins starter Munoz has allowed eight homers in five starts, teeing up homers left and right.

One of these pitchers will break Tuesday. I'd bet on Munoz caving, as the righty has allowed four first-inning bombs this season, elevating himself to a 9.00 ERA in the first frame. The numbers get more mental, though, as opponents are slugging .947 vs Munoz in the first. That's slugging .947, meaning the opponent OPS rises to 1.406. Basically, every hitter turns into Barry Bonds vs Munoz in the first inning.

And that, kids, is enough for me to bet a unit on a YRFI.
