Florida vs Auburn preview & picks

Familiar foes as the Gators and Tigers met in early February, with Florida stamping 90-81 victory on Auburn's home court in Alabama. In that matchup, the Gators successfully rallied from a 10-point deficit, led by Walter Clayton Jr.'s 19 point campaign which barely outpaced Johni Broome's 18-point effort. Reminiscing on that comeback, competitive performance and the uncertainty of Broome's recent elbow injury (which I'll touch on later) explains why Florida remains a slight -2.5 point favorite ahead of tip-off.

The two teams rank second and third in KenPom’s offensive ratings while also holding top-10 spots in the defensive rankings. But, it's the Gators persistence that gives them an edge. Similar to their comeback over Auburn in February, Florida also overcame another double-digit deficit in the Elite Eight against Tex Tech—this group can never be counted out.

Florida vs Auburn Prop Bet: Johni broome uNDER 2.5 Assists (-120) at Sportsbook

Broome may officially be a Wooden Award Finalist, but it rests solely on his rebounding and scoring abilities. The senior hasn’t recorded more than 2.5 assists since the regular-season finale, hitting the under in six straight games.

While he’s expected to play in the Final Four thanks to days of rest, his full health remains a question. He suffered an arm injury after a hard fall in the Elite Eight against Michigan State but returned to post an impressive 25-point, 14-rebound performance. Regardless, his involvement in Saturday's match could be somewhat limited.
