The No. 12 Boise State Broncos are 22.5-point favorites at FanDuel for the Week 13 matchup Wyoming. With the high-flying Broncos on the field, the total is set relatively high at 57.5 points.
Gonna go back to last season when these two Mountain West teams matched up. The game was at Boise on the RIDICULOUSLY UGLY Smurf Turf blue field, and the Broncos (-4.5) posted an easy breezy 32-7 win over Wyoming.

First a word about the BIZARRE College Football Playoff rankings. Boise State just came up as the No. 12 team in the rankings, but according to the committee, they will get the #4 spot which comes with a first round bye. WHAT! Once again, as my fellow New Yorker and tennis great John McEnroe said,'YOU CAN NOT BE SERIOUS!' Not sure about all the specifics of the rankings, but Boise at No. 4? C'MON!
Boise from the Mountain West, the fifth best conference in the country. MAYBE! Tell me Boise is better than Ohio State, Penn State, Ole Miss, Alabama, Indiana or Georgia. Sure the Broncos came within a FG of the No. 1 team in the country, losing at Oregon 37-34, but still, No. 4 and a bye. The committee needs to do a workshop down in Cabo San Lucas and get their act together.
Back to business. It's not often that you see a 22-point road favorite, but Boise (9-1) is the cream of the Mountain West crop while Wyoming has turned into a bottom-feeder at 2-8. The Broncos are on a 7-0 run against the Cowboys and last year's game was typical. QB Maddux Madsen was 12 of 15 for 147 yards, while George Holani (75 yards) and Ashton Jeanty (53) helped Boise gobble up 227 ground yards overall.
If you noticed the 53 yards for Jeanty, you can quadruple that. Ashton has been on a record setting pace this season, with 1,893 yards and 26 TDs through 10 games. He probably will not catch Barry Sanders 1988 record of 2,628 yards and 37 TDs which was accomplished in 11 games. Unless he goes for like 736 yards and 11 TDs against Wyoming.
Jeanty will probably wind up with the all time record because he has two regular season games left, and most likely, a couple in the playoffs. Back in the day, the Big 12 did not have a championship game, the Mountain West does, and rushing yardage from bowl games, was NOT counted. And just another fun fact, Sanders picked up 222 and 5 TDs in a 62-14 win in the Holiday Bowl over, yup, Wyoming.
We know what Jeanty is gonna do, and as long as QB Madsen is on the field, Boise will be a handful. Madsen has been having a fabulous season, completing 175 of 275 (63.6%), for 2,194 yards with 19 TDs and only 3 INTs. The other arm, Wyoming's Kaden Anderson, looks a little like L.A. Chargers QB Justin Herbert, but his numbers are not in the same universe.
Boise was very slow at the start of the game last week and fell behind San Jose State 14-0 early in the 2nd quarter. The wakeup call came with 5:46 left in the 2nd and the Broncos went on to outscore the Spartans 42-7. Not thrilled about laying 22 and a hook, so we'll buy the visiting Broncos -6.5 points to win the first quarter.
