Missouri Tigers featured in our Missouri vs Texas A&M preview

Missouri vs Texas A&M Odds & Picks Week 6: Undefeated, Ranked Missouri Brutal ATS

They’re unbeaten and ranked No. 9 in the latest AP Top 25, but the Missouri Tigers are still an underdog this weekend on the road. Texas A&M opened as a 1.5-point favorite over the visitors from the Show-Me State, who kick off against the Aggies on Saturday afternoon at Kyle Field.

Missouri has yet to cover the spread against a power-conference opponent, squeaking by 14.5-point underdog Boston College 27-21 and 17.5-point underdog Vanderbilt 30-27 in overtime. The Aggies have covered in each of their first two SEC matchups, dispatching 3-point underdog Florida 33-20, and squeaking by 3.5-point underdog Arkansas 21-17 last weekend on a neutral field in Dallas.

Missouri vs Texas A&M Picks – Week 6

With starting quarterback Conner Weigman nursing a shoulder injury he suffered in Week 1, the Aggies have turned to Marcel Reed behind center—and the freshman has largely delivered. In three starts, Reed has tossed six touchdowns to zero interceptions, and led Texas A&M to three victories over that span. Weigman’s status for the Missouri game was not known early in the week, so Reed may be in line to make his biggest start yet.

Missouri’s offense has been the question mark. The Tigers have yet to show much of the big-play ability that characterized their breakthrough 2023 campaign, ranking in the middle of the SEC pack in total yards and average yards per play, and near the bottom in offensive touchdowns scored. Quarterback Brady Cook has found the end zone just four times as the Tigers have struggled to shake off lesser opponents.

Texas A&M has its issues as well, particularly with a bend-don’t-break defense that’s allowing opponents over 330 yards per game, but forced a fumble with 1:30 left to secure the outcome against Arkansas. But Reed looks more comfortable every game, and Missouri hardly passes the eye test as a top-10 team—likely why the Tigers are an underdog Saturday in College Station.

Missouri vs Texas A&M Week 6 Pick: Texas A&M -1.5 (-108)

Texas A&M has gone UNDER in three of four games this season against major-conference opponents (we’re counting Notre Dame in there), and Missouri has gone UNDER in three straight games against power-league foes. Since neither offense has been threatening to break the scoreboard of late, the UNDER seems the natural play for Saturday.

Missouri vs Texas A&M Week 6 Pick: UNDER 49.5 (-110)

Missouri vs Texas A&M News

Texas A&M coach Mike Elko was hopeful that Weigman would be able to play last week against Arkansas, but it didn’t happen—leading us to wonder when we’ll next see the former Aggies starter, who’s dealing with an AC joint issue in his throwing shoulder. Elsewhere, Texas A&M starting center T.J. Shanahan missed the Arkansas game with a leg injury. The Tigers are coming off a bye week.

Missouri vs Texas A&M Prop Bet: Texas A&M -0.5 First Half (-110)

Reed will be making his fourth consecutive start (and third against an SEC opponent) if Weigman can’t go, so the freshman is hardly inexperienced at this point. Add in the fact that this is Missouri’s first road game of the season, and it’s easy to foresee a scenario in which Texas A&M gets off to a fast start.
