Oklahoma Seeks Crucial Win in First Conference Game of Season
Two teams who have been horrible against the spread face off Saturday as Oklahoma travels to Fort Worth to take on TCU at the Amon G. Carter Stadium just a week after the Horned Frogs claimed the Iron Skillet. The Sooners sit at the bottom of the Big 12 with a 1-2 record but could shoot up the ladder if they beat TCU on the road in their first conference game of the season.
TCU thoroughly handled business against SMU last week in a 33-3 victory in which they covered the spread for the first time this season. The Horned Frogs opened as slight dogs in this one and have covered the spread the last three games that they’ve been pegged as underdogs. The Sooners edged Texas Christian by just a point when they met in November last year – TCU was a 19-point underdog heading into that matchup.
Oklahoma has struggled out of the gate but has gone 5-0 against the spread after playing two consecutive games at home. They’ve yet to cover this season and have even lost a game SU as a 13-point favorite.
This is a do-or-die game for the Sooners so expect a tight contest between conference rivals.
