Penn State is in a good spot, sitting at No. 4 in the latest CFP rankings. So, a trip to visit Minnesota, fresh off its fourth loss of the season, doesn't seem too daunting. BetMGM is offering the Nittany Lions as 12.5-point road favorites, who are 5-4 ATS when entering a matchup favored. Drew Allar and company are manhandling non-ranked opponents lately but the Golden Gophers defense should do enough to hush the scoreboard.

Penn State vs Minnesota Picks – Week 13
I have to appreciate P.J. Fleck's defense, which allows 314.3 YPG (ranked 14th) and 19.7 PPG (ranked 17th). Courtesy of them, the Golden Gophers are a noble 7-2-1 ATS and have only suffered a single loss by more than one touchdown (Week 4 vs Iowa).
Penn State may have a win margin of 34 points across its latest two meetings, but Purdue and Washington were far from threatening. The Nittany Lions weren't always dominating competition prior to the Week 10 loss to Ohio State. They claimed a mere three-point overtime win over USC, didn't stun Bowling Green in the 34-27 finish and had to force a strong fourth quarter to defeat Wisconsin. The consistency is lacking.
I'm not sure which Drew Allar will show up on the field Saturday. Will it be the one who has thrown darts to the endzone a pair of times on five different occasions? Or maybe we'll get the one who has struggled to gain passing yardage a handful of times. Regardless, I'm trusting my money with the defense to pull through with enough big stops.
Penn State vs Minnesota Week 13 Pick: Minnesota +12.5 (-110)

Penn State vs Minnesota News
Penn State are navigating a touch Big Ten, falling behind No. 1 Oregon and No. 2 Ohio State while slightly edging an undefeated No. 5 Indiana. As of now, the Nittany Lions are hoping something above them falls apart in order to find a route to the Big Ten Championship. That's why wins over Minnesota and Maryland next week are crucial to boosting their 6-1 SU conference record. Aside from a conference championship on the potential horizon, Penn State will want to win out to guarantee a College Football Playoff spot.
