Bears vs Texans Odds & Picks Week 2: Bears remain winless

The Chicago Bears visit the Houston Texans as +6.5 point underdogs after beating the Titans Week 1 in a game they probably didn’t deserve to win. The Texans took care of business in Week 1 vs. the Colts and will be looking to start the season 2-0 in their home opener. The total in the game is set at 45.5.

Bears Vs. Texans Picks Week 2

Texans Moneyline (-240)

While a lot of other sportsbooks have this moneyline at -275 or even -300, I was happy to grab this -240 at FanDuel. I know, taking a -240 moneyline isn’t sexy, but I think the bookmakers have this point spread and total right where they should be.

The Bears offense struggled with rookie QB Caleb Williams completing 14-of-29 passes for 93 yards. This week, Williams faces his first road test and he may be without his two top WRs. Rome Odunze is considered week-to-week with a Grade 1 MCL sprain and Keenan Allen was seen limping during Week 1. Allen is more likely to play than Odunze, with fellow WR D.J. Moore saying Allen is “fine” and “just an old man.”

Houston’s Derek Stingley is a top-notch CB who can neutralize Moore, but with no Odunze and a banged up Keenan Allen, Williams may struggle again in the passing game.

Last week, Tony Pollard looked good vs. this Bears defense racking up 82 yards on 16 carries (5.1 YPC). This week the Bears will see Joe Mixon who ran for 159 yards on 30 carries (5.3 YPC) and a TD. With Houston’s elite receivers keeping safeties honest Mixon should have no problem moving the chains for the Houston.

The Texans are also a nice 6-point teaser leg if you have a dance partner you'd like to pair them with.
