Browns Vs Steelers Odds & Picks Week 14: Expect Offense

For a long time, a Browns vs Steelers game meant a defensive showcase.

But this week, I'm expecting the Steelers and Browns to put up some points. The Steelers sit as 6.5-point favorites for this Week 14 contest, but I'm looking at the O/U 43.5-point total — which I feel is far too low. I'm taking the OVER and a George Pickens receiving prop for this contest:

Browns vs Steelers Picks Week 14

OVER 43.5 Points (-110)

I get that the perception of the Steelers and Browns is that they're two defense-first, hard-nosed AFC North football squads. But, that's really not true.

The Steelers actually have a top-10 scoring offense this year, averaging 24.7 points per game. The Browns have the seventh-worst scoring defense in the NFL.

Six of the Steelers' last seven games have gone over 43 points while four of the Browns' last five have, too. These two teams met just a few weeks ago and put up 43 points in a gross, snowy contest. With clear conditions expected for Sunday afternoon in Pittsburgh this week, I don't see how this one isn't higher scoring.

Browns vs Steelers Player Props

George Pickens OVER 72.5 Rec Yards (-119)

George Pickens may be unpredictable, but he's predictably great when it comes to catching passes. The Steelers' WR1 has gone OVER 72.5 receiving yards in five of the last six games, including breaking 85 three times in that run.

The Browns' secondary has also struggled to contain guys like Pickens all season. They've allowed the sixth-most yards to receivers on the year and Pickens managed to pick up 48 yards on four catches in falling snow and cold conditions a few weeks ago in Cleveland. Give him a sunny day in Pittsburgh and he'll have 80 this week for sure.

Browns vs Steelers Betting Trends

    • The Steelers are 6-2 in their last eight games against bottom-10 defenses
    • The UNDER has hit in nine of the Steelers' last 13 games against bottom-10 defenses
    • George Pickens has gone OVER 72.5 rec yards in five of his last six games (He's -119 to go OVER that this week at FanDuel)
