Colts vs Packers Odds & Picks Week 2: No Love for the Packers

The Indianapolis Colts head to Green Bay to take on the Packers as 3.5-point favorites in NFL Week 2 action. With the news that Green Bay quarterback Jordan Love is unlikely to take the field, sportsbooks have set the Colts vs Packers total at a measly 40.5.

Colts vs Packers Picks Week 2

Colts -3 (-120)

Intriguingly for bettors, the Colts are 8-0 ATS in their last 8 games against the NFC North. There were strong signs of progress from sophomore quarterback Anthony Richardson and the Colts in Week 1. They ultimately came up just short against C.J. Stroud and the Houston Texans, and now head to Green Bay to take on the Love-less Packers.

Jordan Love's gutwrenching injury in the waning moments of Packers-Eagles is the biggest story, but Green Bay's defense struggled to stop the run against Philly's huge offensive line. Multiple linebackers committed to the wrong gaps, allowing Saquon Barkley to burst through and decimate the Packers. Indianapolis' offensive line is just as big and nearly as talented, and I don't expect Green Bay to be able to plug those gaps in a week.

Love's injury is the other issue. Former Tennessee Titans third-round draft pick Malik Willis is in line to start the Packers home opener. Willis has completed just over 52% of passes, tossing for no touchdowns and three interceptions in parts of 12 games on the gridiron. Without #10 on the field, it's likely the Colts will dominate time of possession, and use the skills of Richardson and Jonathan Taylor to batter the Packers' weak run defense.

At the end of the day, Anthony Richardson vs Malik Willis is quite literally a David vs Goliath story, and I'm backing Goliath to come out on top on Sunday. Lay the points on the Colts -3.5.

Colts vs Packers Prop Pick

Jonathan Taylor Anytime Touchdown +110

No Colts vs Packers prop odds have been released at the time of writing. However, I'll be on Jonathan Taylor to score at least one touchdown on Sunday.

Remember, Saquon scored three times in Sao Paulo, and this game trends towards Taylor dominating proceedings.
