Chiefs vs Falcons Odds & Picks Week 3: A Ray-Ray day?

The Kansas City Chiefs head to Atlanta as -3.5 point favorites vs. the Falcons in Week 3 action on Sunday Night Football. This will be the Falcons second-consecutive primetime game as they're fresh off a 22-21 win on MNF that everyone is still talking about. The total in this game is set at 46.5, just below the key number of 47.

The Chiefs are 2-0, but both victories were hard fought games they easily could have lost. Kansas City would love nothing more than a convincing win here, but they'll be without star running back Isiah Pacheco (fibula).

Falcons vs. Chiefs Picks Week 3

Falcons O10.5 1H Pt. (+130)

Steve Spagnuolo is a wizard as the Chiefs' defensive coordinator and you'd have to go back 13 games to find the last time a team scored more points in the second half than they did in the first half vs. the Chiefs (including playoffs and excluding OT). Spagnuolo is a master after halftime, but points can be scored on the Chiefs in the first half before he makes adjustments.

You had to like what the Falcons running game did vs. the Eagles Monday night as Bijan Robinson averaged 6.9 YPC (97 yards) and Tyler Allgeier averaged 5.9 YPC (53 yards). Running backs are especially important in Thursday night games with less time to prepare and the Falcons have two good ones.

As a member of the Vikings last season, Cousins scored 13 first-half points vs. a Chiefs team who defense was better than this years team. That day, behind an inferior offensive line compared to what he'll have Sunday, Cousins threw 2 TD and 0 INTs with 284 air yards.

Falcons Vs Chiefs Prop Picks

McCloud O3.5 rec. (+123)
McCloud longest rec. O15.5 yards (-108)

Falcons WR Ray-Ray McCloud is known more for his skills in the return game, but the Falcons have quietly been featuring him in their passing game with Rondale Moore on IR.

McCloud, who caught a 19-yard pass vs. the Chiefs in the Super Bowl, has been targeted 12 times this season and he's turned that into seven receptions for 94 yards. McCloud is averaging 13.4 yards per catch, so his 15.5 yard longest reception number seems short.
