Giants vs Falcons Odds & Picks Week 16: Atlanta Will Cover Big Spread

As Week 16 continues, the Falcons are stocky 10.5-point favorites (on FanDuel) at home against the floundering New York Giants.

While Atlanta's been the victim of some bad luck and poor QB play by Kirk Cousins of late, the talent is there. The sportsbooks agree, and the Giants vs Falcons Week 16 odds are accurate? But will we play the Falcons -10.5? Let's see.

Falcons vs Buccaneers Picks Week 16

Falcons -10.5

Yep, I'm going there. The Falcons are by no means a perfect squad and are prone to severe mental lapses, but we're talking about the 2024 Giants here.

Before the Falcons' four-game losing skid that will have hopefully ended on Monday Night Football (I'll update my pick after this game), this squad was well-equipped to make the postseason. Atlanta's offensive weapons are well established, and, on his best days, Cousins can thrive against most defenses.

As for the Giants, they are 1-8 ATS during their historic nine-game losing streak with the lone cover coming in a narrow Week 14 loss to the Saints. Baltimore promptly destroyed the Giants in Week 16, covering a 16.5-point spread and proving it's possible to exceed such a number. The Falcons aren't as complete as the Ravens, but they have the offensive firepower to abuse the Giants defense early and often.

There's also more QB controversy for the G-Men. Tommy DeVito suffered a concussion in Week 15, leaving backup Tim Boyle to replace him. As a Lions fan, I can assure you Tim Boyle sucks. The Falcons have a strong chance to cover whether it's Boyle or DeVito on the field for the Giants in Week 16.

Giants vs Falcons Prop Pick

Kirk Cousins UNDER 1.5 Touchdown Passes (TBD)

Listen, I'm hoping Cousins breaks his streak of four straight games without a passing TD in Week 15 vs the Raiders because if he doesn't, the Giants may extend that streak to six games.

For all the Giants stink at, they're remarkable at defending the pass, albeit against poor teams. Lamar Jackson and the Ravens carved New York for five passing touchdowns in Week 15, but before that, the Giants were quite good, allowing just 1.08 passing touchdowns per game, the eighth-best mark in football. Even with Lamar's big day, seven of the last 10 QBs have gone UNDER their passing TD total vs the Giants.

Bijan Robinson might have a massive day, but Cousins will struggle to find the end zone in Week 16.

Giants vs Falcons News

As I mentioned earlier, DeVito sustained a concussion during the Week 15 game against the Ravens and did not return to the field.

His availability for the Week 16 matchup against the Falcons is uncertain, as it will depend on his progression through the NFL's concussion protocol. In the meantime, backup quarterback Tim Boyle, who replaced DeVito during the Ravens game, is expected to take first-team reps in practice and could start if DeVito is unavailable. If Boyle is slated to start, the odds could shift even more in Atlanta's favor.

  • The Giants are 1-8 ATS during their losing streak
  • Tim Boyle has a career record of 0-5 SU as a starting quarterback in the NFL
