The Seattle Seahawks opened up as a 6-point favorite over the New York Giants in a Week 5 contest with the Over/Under total in this game set at 42.5. A few pennies have come in on Seattle and the line has ticked up a hook to -6.5. The O/U has also ticked up and is now sitting at 43.5.
Last season, these teams played in New York and the Seahawks (-2.5) SMOKED the Giants 24-3. The O/U total was posted at 46 and was an easy UNDER.
And if look-aheads are part of your handicapping homework, the Seahawks will host the 49ers in a Thursday night matchup next week, while the New Yorkers head back home for a tussle with Joe Burrow and the Bengals.

If you're wondering how Seattle's 24-3 beatdown against the Giants last year will affect this game, here are some very interesting numbers.
Despite a crush job, Seahawks QB Geno Smith was just kinda EH. He completed 13-of-20 but just managed 110 air yards. That tells me the NY defense might have something up its sleeve. They've actually been pretty solid so far, holding an explosive Washington offense to 21 points, Cleveland to 15 and Dallas to 20. Yea they're only 1-3 but if you look at Seattle's 3-1 record, it was built on the back of lousy teams. Wins against the Broncos, Patriots and Dolphins didn't impress me.
When they finally played a team with chops, the Lions, they were busted up for 42 points. And now we understand the 'Hawks D could have even more holes. DT Byron Murphy, DE Leonard Williams, and LBs Boye Mafe, Uchenna Nwosu and Jerome Baker all missed the game against Detroit.
Now it looks like Pro Bowl S Julian Love (quad contusion) could be a no show as well. Last year, Love and Bobby Wagner combined for 27 tackles against New York. This Sunday, with Wagner in Washington and Love questionable, they'll combine for ZERO.
And just in case you were not watching on Monday night, Detroit's Jared Goff hit on 18-of-18 against the Seattle D for 292 yards with 2 TDs and no INTs. Tried to do the math on 18-for-18 and it keeps coming up 100%. Am I doing something wrong? Or is Goff just that good?

New York's Daniel Jones was pretty sweet against the Seahawks last year, despite the loss, hitting on 27-of-34 for 203 yards. That ain't 100% but 79% ain't too shabby. There is an issue with NY's best WR, Malik Nabers, who cradled 11 balls for 115 yards, before getting his bell rung against the Cowboys. His status is officially listed as questionable, but he does have three days extra rest, so keep an eye out.
But don't sleep on the kid from Kentucky, WR Wan'Dale Robinson. He grabbed 11 balls for 71 yards last week and should be a force again with or without Malik on the field. Geno 'The Pizza Man' Smith will be looking forward to this game since he played in New York for the both the Giants and Jets. But he was sacked three times by the Lions and the Giants defense is No. 3 in the NFL with 15 sacks. Looking at the underdog Giants +6.5 and of course, if you can, buy the hook to +7.
