Giants vs Steelers Odds & Picks Week 8: TJ Watt Will Feast

After blowing out the Jets and Raiders, the Pittsburgh Steelers are 6.5-point favorites over the Giants for Week 8's Sunday Night Football contest.

I tend to agree with the sportsbooks on this one, thinking Pittsburgh should easily handle New York. But, I don't think the bookmakers have gone far enough. I've got a Steelers spread pick and a TJ Watt sack prop for this contest:

Giants vs Steelers Picks Week 8

Steelers -6 (-110)

A full touchdown line may seem like a lot for a Steelers team that doesn't score much, but the offense has really found a groove lately. Pittsburgh has put up over 30 points in each of the last two weeks, winning by more than 18 in each contest.

This Giants team wasn't good to begin with, but injuries have made them even worse lately. They haven't scored more than seven points since October 6th and haven't covered a spread since EDGE Kayvon Thibodeaux got hurt.

The big key for me in this one is Pittsburgh's defensive line. Alex Highsmith and TJ Watt should have a field day against the Giants this week with Giants LT Andrew Thomas done for the year. The Giants have let up the seventh-most sacks in football this season and let up a whopping seven with Thomas out of the lineup last week.

Daniel Jones isn't going to have time to do anything in this one, so I expect another stinker from the Giants. As long as Russel Wilson doesn't turn into a pumpkin (would be fitting for Halloween, though), this -6 line is easy.

Giants vs Steelers Player Prop

TJ Watt OVER 0.5 Sacks (-190)

Watt has just 4.5 sacks this season, but this is the week he really gets going.

As I mentioned above, the Giants' offensive line is in shambles after the injury to Andrew Thomas. They already allowed some of the most sacks in football (3.1 on the year), but that number ballooned to seven without Thomas last week vs the Eagles. Watt is, in my opinion, the best rusher in football, so this is a no-brainer OVER to me.
