Find our best CBB player prop bets as March Madness marches on, this Thursday March 27, 2025:
One of the most surprising aspects of Duke's tournament performance so far is that the Blue Devils are involving more players beyond key contributors Cooper Flagg and Kon Knueppel. Caleb Foster hit 12 points in the Round of 64, Tyrese Proctor has sank 19 points or more in consecutive meetings and Khaman Maluach has been getting his fair share in the offensive zone, exceeding 7.5 points in five straight matchups including the opening pair of games in the Big Dance. If Maluach is given a fair amount of minutes and opportunities, like he has been, there's a good chance he'll exceed 7.5 points for us in what’s expected to be a high-paced campaign against Arizona.
I’m leaning toward Maryland here. Florida’s offense is undeniably explosive, ranked second on KenPom, but Maryland’s defense just has a way of controlling a matchup’s tempo. The Terps rank 14th in the nation, allowing just 30.2% from three, and they’ve proven they can limit perimeter shooting throughout the year. This could make it tough for Clayton Jr. to hit more than two threes. If Maryland stays true to its disciplined defensive plan and slows the game down, Clayton Jr. might struggle to find his rhythm.
Gators guard Will Richard has failed to surpass 4.5 rebounds in six of his last seven games. Richard's reeled in just 3.5 rebounds a night in those contests, and will have his hands full with a Maryland team that crashes the boards with reckless abandon. In fact, the Terps rank43rd in defensive rebounds percentage. Maryland plays a hardnosed brand of basketball that will keep guards like Richard off the glass on both ends of the floor. Fade Richard's rebounding prop in the Sweet 16.
Wildcats forward Tobe Awaka isn't a big part of the offensive gameplan. As such, Awaka has failed to exceed 7.5 points in seven straight games versus top-25 defenses for points allowed.
Awaka's simply not a good enough scorer to trust against the size, length and defensive ferocity of the Blue Devils. Awaka's averaged just 2.5 points per game against top-25 defenses in that stretch. He'll see no quarter against a Duke defense that sits fourth in the nation in defensive rating, and first in opponent effective field goal percentage.
Fade Awaka as my CBB DFS play of the day.
CBB Trends Pick: Aden Holloway O1.5 Assists (-125 at Bet365)
Holloway is dishing it around for Alabama right now. In two tournament games he’s totaled five assists and gone O1.5 both times. He’s gone OVER 1.5 assists in five-straight games.
In the Sweet Sixteen, Holloway faces a BYU team that allows 13.0 assists per game (138th in the nation). In two tournament games, the Cougars have allowed seven players to go O1.5 assists.
