Steelers vs Broncos Odds & Picks Week 2: Fade Denver's Rushing Defense

I'm here to break down Steelers vs Broncos odds for Week 2, with Pittsburgh set as a slight favorite over Denver.

The Steelers upset the Falcons in Week 1 on the back of a great special teams and rushing day. I think those same facets can help them to a win over Denver in Week 2.

Steelers vs Broncos Picks Week 2

Steelers -3 (-102)

Pittsburgh's offense is by no means sexy, but I think they match up pretty well against Denver.

With Justin Fields in at QB, the Steelers kept the ball on the ground all day in an 18-10 win over the Falcons in Week 1. They had 41 total carries for over 140 yards. That ground attack will thrive again against a Denver team that allowed the third-most rushing yards in football last year. Denver also struggled to stop the run in Week 1 this year, allowing Kenneth Walker III to get 103 yards, and Geno Smith and Zach Charbonnet add another 42.

The Broncos played three teams that finished top-five in rushing last season, going 1-2 in those games with a -72 point differential (yes, -72 in just three games).

I went back and forth on Steelers ML vs the three-point spread in this one, but ultimately decided to take the points. Pittsburgh's last 11 wins have all come by more than three points, giving me the confidence to take them on the spread.

Steelers vs Broncos Prop Pick

Najee Harris OVER 53.5 Rushing Yards (-135)

I'm not the biggest Najee Harris fan in the world, but I've gotta take his OVER here. I already mentioned Denver's struggles to stop the run above, but this pick goes deeper than that.

The Steelers RB1 actually looked pretty solid last week, taking 20 carries for 70 yards. He had 77% of Pittsburgh's running back carries, too, which was no guarantee with Cordarrelle Patterson and Jaylen Warren also in the Steelers' backfield. If Harris even gets 15 carries this week, he'll easily hit this OVER against a bad Broncos rushing D.
