Steelers vs Commanders Odds & Picks Week 10: Back Underdog Steelers After Bye

The Pittsburgh Steelers and Washington Commanders do battle in Week 10 of the NFL season. Grizzled veteran Russell Wilson takes on the next generations' scrambling signal-caller in Jayden Daniels. Keep in mind, Mike Tomlin and the Steelers are 25-6 SU against rookie quarterbacks.

Steelers vs Commanders Week 10 Picks

Steelers +2.5

Both teams enter this game off of resounding victories against the New York Giants. The Steelers defeated the G-Men 26-18 in Week 8 and should be well rested after their bye, while the Commanders won 27-22 in Metlife Stadium in Week 9.

NFL Rookie of the Year frontrunner Jayden Daniels leads the NFL's top ranked offense by EPA per play. The Heisman Trophy winner has been historically efficient. Daniels paces all passers in adjusted EPA per play, and adjusted completion percentage. While the offense is generating all the headlines, Dan Quinn's defense leads the league in pressures over the last month. They're also seventh in EPA per play in the last six weeks.

That being said, the Commanders have faced a cupcake schedule, taking on the Panthers, Bears and Giants over the last three weeks. Dissecting the Steelers elite defense is a completely different story. Washington does most of its damage on the ground on offense. They'll find easy yards hard to come by against a brutish Pittsburgh defensive line allowing just 90 rushing yards per game and four yards per rush. The Steelers allow a conversion on 34% of third-downs and allow a touchdown on just 37.5% of opponents' redzone trips.

On top of that, the Steelers own the most efficient - and aggressive - special teams unit in the league. Danny Smith's unit are 12/12 on field goals, and have blocked two field goals, an extra point, a punt and returned a punt for a touchdown over the past month. Mike Tomlin is 11-9 ATS after a bye in his career, and the Steelers are 3-1 ATS on the road this season. This line has flipped after the Steelers opened as 1.5-point road favorites. Back Pittsburgh as underdogs in Washington.

Steelers vs Commanders Week 10 Props

Austin Ekeler UNDER 44.5 Rushing Yards

Ekeler has missed this rushing yardage prop in three of his last four games. He carried the ball only 11 times last week, and will find opportunities few and far between against a stout Pittsburgh front seven. I'm fading Ekeler in Week 10.
