Super Bowl 59 Anytime TD Picks

Super Bowl 59 Anytime Touchdown Scorer Picks: Value In DeVonta Smith

The Super Bowl is the best time for touchdown props. With all eyes on one game and the best players in football battling it out, Super Bowl 59 anytime touchdown scorer bets matter more than usual.

For Eagles vs Chiefs, I'm backing two 'value' options to score, beyond the minus-money guys like Saquon Barkley. My Super Bowl 59 TD picks are DeVonta Smith of the Eagles and Xavier Worthy of the Chiefs, who have both been top red zone targets this season. I've also got a deep value pick on an Eagles backup RB.

I've also got some first touchdown picks from Sportsbook for the big game:

DeVonta Smith Anytime Touchdown (+230)

A lot of attention will be on Saquon and AJ Brown for these Philly Super Bowl TD bets, but Smith is clearly the best value.

He was the Eagles’ most used receiving weapon in the red zone this year, seeing 12 RZ targets, eight receptions, and a rushing attempt. He’s also been a consistent contributor lately, with four targets and four receptions in all three Eagles’ playoff games this year.

Last time the Eagles’ faced off against Kansas City in the Super Bowl, Smith balled out, too, with seven receptions for 100 yards on nine targets.

With all eyes on the Eagles’ other playmakers, Smith is great value at +230.

Xavier Worthy Anytime Touchdown (+150)

Xavier Worthy was a massive success for the Chiefs this season, posting 638 yards and six touchdowns. He was also the team’s top wide receiver target in the red zone.

He's been even better lately, though, having at least five receptions in each of his last seven games and three touchdowns in his last four starts.

In two playoff games this year, Worthy has seen 13 targets (most on the team) plus three rushing attempts. When the lights get bright in the playoffs, Andy Reid loves to scheme up touches for speedy gadget players.

We’ve seen Chiefs like Mecole Hartman and Damien Williams score in the Super Bowl before, and Worthy will carry on the tradition.

Value Anytime TD Pick: Will Shipley (+1200)

Across 21 games this season, Will Shipley had just six red zone carries and targets. But, five of those have come in the last four weeks and two came last week against the Commanders. If you want to go way down the board for an Anytime TD sleeper, Shipley is your guy.

He honestly looked great at the end of last weeks game, taking the ball four times for 77 yards and a score. If there are injuries in the Philly RB room or the Eagles somehow get up a bunch of points, this Shipley bet could pay off.

Super Bowl 59 First Touchdown Scorer Bets

If you want an even bigger TD payout, look to first TD scorer odds. I like both Worthy and Smith as first TD scorers with odds from BetMGM, as well as a few other options:

  • Saquon Barkley (PHI) 1st TD: +425
  • DeVonta Smith (PHI) 1st TD: +1200
  • Xavier Worthy (KC) 1st TD: +1000
  • Noah Gray (KC) 1st TD: +2200

If you're placing a 1st TD scorer bet for the Super Bowl, BetMGM is a great place to lock it in, because of the book's 'Second Chance Promotion.' It's a promo that offers bettors the chance to win back their stake if a first touchdown scorer doesn't open the game with a TD, but ends up being the second scorer.

How To Understand NFL Anytime Touchdown Scorer Odds

The time has come that you finally want to bet on some NFL props instead of sides and totals and you’ve decided on the NFL Anytime Touchdown Scorer props. This is a fun choice because props are like games within the game that may or may not have a direct impact on the outcome of the game.

When you go to your online sportsbook to look at NFL Anytime Touchdown Scorer odds for our recommended bets, for instance, the odds available to bet on might be presented like this:

Saquon Barkley – Eagles +120

DeAndre Hopkins – Chiefs +150

Similar to a moneyline bet where favorites would be marked with the minus sign (-) and underdogs with the plus sign (+), the favorite to score a touchdown is a player with the lowest odds, which in this example is Saquon Barkley. Based on Barkley's implied odds, he has a 45.45 percent chance to score a touchdown.

Let’s say you think Hopkins will score a touchdown in this game. In order to make $100 in profit, you would need to bet $66.67. If you make that bet and DHop scores, your $66.67 original bet is returned and you win $100 in profit.
