ACC conference winner Favorite: duke blue devils (-1800)
There's just no catching Duke, right now. The only team that has an offensive and defensive rating at KenPom that ranks sixth or better. The Blue Devils are March Madness favorites, constantly doing just enough to sit ahead of Auburn on the oddsboard--which they defeated back in December.
It boasts in your favor when the best player in college football is wearing your crest. Cooper Flagg, averaging over 25 points per game since January, is expected to be just the fourth true freshman to win the Wooden Award.
Luckily for Jon Scheyer and the Blue Devils, their remaining schedule is doable, with just one ranked competitor remaining. Their fellow conference members all have four losses or more, there's absolutely no denying that Duke is dominating the ACC.
Duke has strung together a perfect 10-0 SU in conference play, a mark that only Clemson and Louisville can compete with, each 9-1 SU.
ACC conference winner contender: Clemson tigers (+1700)
If you're wanting to fade Duke to win the ACC, you're brave but I respect it. The Tigers aren't completely out of the running, especially because their matchup against Duke in early February could be a massive upset if Clemson plays its cards right.
Brad Brownell has four losses under his belt at the end of January, back-to-back unranked defeats before Christmas wrote Clemson off. The Tigers offense, sitting 26th in the KenPom ratings, calls for a bigger threat than their defense. Since mid-December, Clemson has allowed opponents 70 points or more in six of its 11 meetings--showing inconsistency in its own zone.
Like I've already mentioned, the clash between Duke and Clemson on February 8 could really shake up this oddsboard--so long as the Tigers stay perfect in conference play until then.
