March Madness Sweet 16 betting handles are here! Dig your teeth into all the betting information and analysis before the next round of a phenomenal March Madness tournament tips off on Thursday. Our friends from BetMGM Sportsbook have provided the data.
Take a look at all the March Madness Sweet 16 betting handles:
In likely the most high profile Sweet 16 matchup, bettors have flocked to wager on Maryland vs Florida. With Most Outstanding Player candidate Walter Clayton in action against the likes of Derick Queen and the Terrapins outstanding defense, this one should be a ton of fun to watch.
With Goldin and Wolf providing a platform, the Wolverines could be a real thorn in the side of the top-ranked Tigers. Michigan excels at defending the three-point line, and are a top-15 team in two-point shooting percentage on both ends of the floor. Dusty May's squad is a force in the paint, and Auburn should be wary of a coach who knows a thing or two about upsets.
Meanwhile, John Calipari's Arkansas have clawed their way to the Sweet 16 on the back of a strong defense. If the Razorbacks can corral JT Toppin, an upset is in the cards.
Michigan has taken 72% of the bets, and 69% of the handle against Auburn so far. While the Florida Gators are a massive public favorite against Maryland, seeing 77% of bets, and a wild 89% of the betting handle thus far.
Elsewhere, bettors have jumped on the Florida Gators hype train. Florida has take 71% of bets and 65% of the spread betting handle for their matchup against Maryland. Other than Michigan, bettors seemed to have gotten the memo and are wagering on the March Madness Sweet 16 chalk.
Nobody likes the Auburn Tigers to cover against the Michigan Wolverines on Friday night. An 8.5-9.5-point spread against the towering Wolverines front line doesn't help matters, but if you want to fade the public this is the bet to make.
Our friends at bet365 have passed along a number of intriguing wagering insights for tonight's Sweet 16 matchups.
Opener of Gators -5.5, quickly moved to -6 and saw the action drive the line to -7 for a brief period, however this one has come back to -6, but the action is largely buying a Florida cover, despite the line moves, the Gators see approx 68% of all spread plays
ML moves have seen Florida from opener -280, to -330 in line with earlier Spread moves, now laying -290. The Terrapins are +235, and though many look for good ML dogs in the tourney, Maryland is only seeing approx 12% of all ML plays, to bring the upset
The Razorbacks opened as +5.5 dogs, and that line has held, despite Arkansas being the most popular backed Spread dog for the Sweet 16 round by far
